I've said this for a while now, but I really think that as long as college football participation is tied to being a student, as long as you're enrolled, in good standing, and degree-seeking, I don't see a legal reason you shouldn't be allowed to compete, no matter how many years you've been in school.

You will probably say "this is bad for the sport", and I don't necessarily disagree, but legally speaking there is no justification for the 5-year rule besides tradition, and we've seen how well that's held up against NCAA lawsuits lol.

So working towards your 8th degree would be a key to playing college football for a 10th season?

Imagine Tom Brady or Payton Manning going back to college to play college football lol
 
Sounds like those 23-24 year old guys that still partied with 16 year old high school kids that we laughed at and called loosers...
Again, shame is not a legal argument haha

I get it, people don't like it, I don't really either, but it hits at the absurdity of trying to be a semi-professional sports league that's also tied to universities.
