I don't understand why the university doesn't do a national search. I don't get it.
I just realized that this is the third Robert in a row that we’ve hired. Stitt, Hauck, now Kennedy.
Time? Also I have a feeling they did on the QT and that’s why Kennedy was hired.

I think it was a smart move to hire Kennedy...to late in the game to put
out a nation wide search...what are the chances getting a reputable coach..
plus keeping the players you have...Im sure the Cats will pick off a few!

While this is impressive, being a head coach is a completely different animal. Now you're not just in charge of your position group, now you're in charge of schemes, recruiting, staffing, and managing practice sessions and team activities.
This is something that people don't think about. I hope Bobby is ready to juggle it all (and I'm assuming he is or he wouldn't have been handed the reigns). Much to see.

Every Head Coach out there was a 1st-time Head Coach at a point in time. Hell - the only head coach experience Vince Lombardi has was at a Jersey high school...he toiled as an assistant for years and years.
There is also nothing magical about being a coordinator prior to being a head coach:
Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh, Joe Paterno, Dabo Swinney, Mike Tomlin, Andy Reid...on and on...

You lose to the Cats in WA Griz and you are not good enough. Its that simple. The new guy has a year to get things going then he gets to take the test.

I was looking at Bobby Kennedy’s resume and wondered why he would even look at Montana let alone come here as an assistant. Maybe this was all in the works starting last year. Proven high caliber coach, already in the system. Ready set go.
No impressed by the lack of OC/DC on his resume. He should've risen to one of those by now. Going straight to HC all of a sudden is odd.

Google Curt Cignetti coaching path.
IUP, Elon, JMU, Indiana. He had small college jobs before taking over Indiana or JMU. Kennedy's first venture in HC is a big GSC program. Even Cignetti had small schools to learn at first

You do realize that there wasn't going to be a search in February.
Which proves my point. He may be the only option we had, thus the lite resume.
