2027 Montana Recruiting (10) Verbals & (55) Offers

Writings on the wall, he doesn't give a crap about the future, this will be his last year and now you know why Green left after all these years to take a position coach job at WSU.
BH will be here another 4 years - until he is 65.

Why should he? His legacy has already been solidified as a solid coach. Vigen is still creating his legacy.
If he's happy with being a "solid" coach and nothing more, then fine. But he hasn't lived up to his own expectations for himself and his team. It's been discussed ad nauseam, but when the goals are to beat the cats, win the conference championship, and win the national championship, and he isn't meeting those goals but Vigen is, then I contend that he SHOULD feel pressure.

If he's seriously happy with status quo and feels no pressure to do better, then he should retire. I contend that he DOES know he needs to do better, and hence does feel the pressure, I'm just not sure that he knows how or what to change to actually get to the next level.

He can be unhappy with the status quo and is actively trying to fix it while also not feeling external pressure.

You are acting like he is a .500 coach.

Right... Griz went 13-2.... 1 game from the championship, 2 years ago was in the championship. People out here acting like hes never won a game
I don't think it's the fact that Bobby wins that is in question. His teams win a lot of games, and that's great. I love watching the Griz win. I love watching the Griz make the playoffs pretty much every year. What I don't like is the OTHER fact that he can't get the job done when it matters most.

What is it that he doesn't have that has kept both him and the team from winning four national championships and seven conference championships? The athletes are there. The facilities are there. The community and booster support are there. The money is there. Yet, he hasn't been able to get the job done.

As frustrating as it is for the fans and probably UM's administrations, it has to be equally frustrating for him. Bobby is the Fran Tarkenton/Bill Kelly of FCS football. Multiple Championship games without a win.

Like them, he has a lot of records, big deal. Where are the championships? THAT is what matters, not all of the cool trophies in his office and his name in the record books. You KNOW he would love to have a Conference championship right for every finger, and enough Natty rings to fill one hand.

It's just vexing as a fan why he can't win. I guess some people might be legendary, they will never be heroes.

Good point!
apparently I was wrong...he retired before the end of the year. But what I had heard about his "lame duck" behaviors from good sources seems pretty accurate now. So maybe now you all is well guys can take a break for months...it wasn't all going just peachy
