Idaho State Transfer Portal Players Explained

I was curious about an O-Line player from Weber State would transfer to Idaho State since we supposedly have an o-line coach from Weber on the Griz staff. This is what I found on the Idaho State website. It is an detailed description of all their transfer portal players. https://isubengals.com/news/2026/1/...ounces-additional-signings-to-2026-class.aspx

Zoom Esplin
OL
Encinitas, Calif. | BYU, Weber State

Weber State (2024): Played in 11 games on the offensive line during the 2024 season as a redshirt freshman for the Wildcats...Provided depth and versatility along the offensive front throughout the season.
Weber State (2023): Saw action in two games while redshirting after joining the program in the summer.
Esplin is majoring in University Studies at Idaho State with an academic focus in Business and was coached by Coach Sovacool at La Costa Canyon High School, where he played offensive tackle. He originally signed with BYU in February 2022 and was a multi-sport athlete in high school, contributing on both the offensive and defensive lines. Esplin said he appreciates the Idaho State community and fan support. His favorite NFL players are Tyron Smith and Joe Thomas, and he follows the Washington Commanders. Athletic ability runs in his family, as his mother played volleyball at Utah State, his father played basketball at Northwestern, and his younger brother plays hockey for the Spud Kings.

If you were curious, how come you didn't find any useful information?
Well, the link he provided did relate that ISU brought in seven (7) WRs into their mix. And four DBs. I guess ISU didn't have anyone that could catch the ball last year; let alone defend against the pass.

Lots of useful information, you just have to be able to read and comprehend what you read which as we can see by your post is clearly lacking on your part.
Sorry, my lack of comprehension is missing it unless the connection is the Spud Kings. I can see that being a big draw. Or are you reading into the fact that since he come from BYU/Weber and transferred to ISU, maybe he's mormon? He does like the community.

It's unreal how much of an asshole some of the people are that rush to Egriz to criticize a poster yet do not even attempt to understand the reason for the post.

Well, there are so many variables that it doesn’t seem prudent to guess. Here are some reasons. Girlfriend/boyfriend is closer to ISU, religion, didn’t like the O line coach who is now at Montana, likes cats not bears, enjoys playing indoors, loves the color orange, wants to underachieve in 2026, his former o line coach thinks he is average, momma’s boy who wants to be closer to home and finally - he doesn’t like cold weather and loud noises

You guys, what he's saying is that since this guy provided depth and versatility on the O line last year for Weber, and now that he's transfered to Idaho State, it means that the women's basketball team from the University Of Puget Sound is going to beat the Gonzaga men's cross country team at charades. Duh!

You dont have to read between the lines much to see that.

The thread is NOT about the lineman from Idaho State. He was used as an example. The reason I put the link to Vandals explaining their transfer portal commits was to show how they did a quality explanation of their incoming portal transfers. It would be great to see the Griz do something similar. It's beyond the scope of most on Egriz to see the meaning because they are just fixated on being an ass to the poster.

All they did was post his bio. You act like they put out a documentary special on each player.

How are the Vandals part of the explanation?
