The guy has developed ALOT of high end talent at Corner Canyon HS out here, if he's able to replicate that at Weber and the school actually begins to invest/give a damn then I agree the have the potential to get back to the Jay Hill years.Watch out for Weber, maybe not this season but in 2-3 years I think they have potential to be really good based on what they are building. Their new coach has connections to all the big high schools around SLC and they got Devin Brown who played at Corner Canyon in high school and was a 4 star prospect coming in at qb from Cal.
The whole of FCS has become more watered down. But colter has made the point, and I agree with it, that the bar to win an FCS championship is as high or higher than it's ever been due to the presence of NDSU and to a lesser extent SDSU for the past 15 years. Cats caught a break this year not having to play them, no doubt. So I think it's easier maybe to have a good regular season and to make a semifinal run, but then you have to contend with the teams that run the subdivision, and they're as loaded as any FCS team ever was.I believe that just assuming the Griz should be better because many FCS schools have transitioned to FBS is oversimplification.
Them or idaho need to be the program that pushes the Cats and griz. Nobody else has the resources. Nau wants to be but they've never been able to sustain it. Davis is playing footsie with the MWC more than the Montana schools. The conference needs somebody, no doubt. The guy has developed ALOT of high end talent at Corner Canyon HS out here, if he's able to replicate that at Weber and the school actually begins to invest/give a damn then I agree the have the potential to get back to the Jay Hill years.
Sedona and the surrounding area is not that far from Flagstaff. NAU just needs someone to connect with the property owners in the area to become donors.Them or idaho need to be the program that pushes the Cats and griz. Nobody else has the resources. Those other teams could easily win the conference. It's usually being a two team conference but those teams regularly change. Especially these days with the portal. You’re right, it’s only been the last couple years that the BSC became a 2 team race every year. I think that we will only see UCD and Idaho flirt with contending. But do you see any other teams breaking into the top tier of the conference? I do not, and I’d challenge anyone to argue a case in favor of any of those other teams.
But that very list is still extremely damning for us. We have fewer titles in the last 10 years than Weber, Eastern, and SOUTHERN UTAH. Who has been the AD that entire time? Who has been our coach for 70% (I think) of those years? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills lol there’s a lot of merit in this opinion.
Those property owners donate to either UA or ASU.Sedona and the surrounding area is not that far from Flagstaff. NAU just needs someone to connect with the property owners in the area to become donors.
I used to think NAU was a sleeping giant in the conference with all of their potential resources but what they are dealing with has more layers to it then the surface. On paper it seems like NAU should be a top choice for guys from the elite Arizona high school programs Hamilton, Saguaro, Chandler, Basha etc… The problem is there are some institutional challenges that NAU is facing in getting these guys on campus. Number 1 being the facilities at NAU may be a downgrade from a school like Hamilton where as Montana for example has comparable or better facilities than any AZ high school. Number 2 guys from Phoenix are used to warm enough weather to comfortably practice outside at any time of year and are used to having a large city social scene. Since NAU offers neither of those to many Phoenix area recruits NAU is seen as going away just as much as going out of State because Flagstaff is so different than Phoenix.Sedona and the surrounding area is not that far from Flagstaff. NAU just needs someone to connect with the property owners in the area to become donors.
If I truly had to guess. Just by what I’ve personally seen. I’d say 68What’s the average age of qb club members?
That’s probably the issue he’s getting at if I had to guess. I didn’t listen to it.What’s average age of largest financial supporters of Griz football
Until you climb a flight of stairs. It has never occurred to me that NAU would be a good place to play football. I like Flagstaff, though. Reminds me a bit of Missoula.
I gave up stairs years ago.Until you climb a flight of stairs.
lol. When we built our house, we put in an elevator.I gave up stairs years ago.
I think that's why the track and cross country teams are good at NAU. It's even worse at UW in Laramie.Until you climb a flight of stairs.
I also think that’s why NAU consistently outpunted their coverage last season and Morrison was actually the best overall punter in the conference.I think that's why the track and cross country teams are good at NAU. It's even worse at UW in Laramie.
