It's a marathon of a pod, best taken in doses. We talk on the wild success the offense had and the need for consistency in growth in the OL, plus our excitement for the skill players on the 2026 team. We discuss the observable and noticeable organizational shortcomings despite having a damn good football coach, issues/concerns within athletics, and signs of positivity with fan organization and no real signs of defeatist attitude from the fanbase. We also cover thoughts on defense, finding some stability, and inevitable expectation that the 3-3-5 is here to stay despite all the fan questions/calls to kill it haha. We cover portal additions and losses and we round up the questions left unanswered from the first few segments.

Great episode, really enjoyed the discussion about social media and how we could use it to help our recruits and the university with NIL. Some ideas/views I was not thinking about. Good info and always fun to listen to.

Bodnar dipping out while Bobby goes into a contract year is just terrible timing. Primes us to punt on a lot of important decisions.

I thought the discussion about the inner workings of the athletic department, particularly with respect to marketing the department and football team…..was at the same time interesting, not surprising, and sad.

Or it sets up a new president to make some of their own decisions. Can they get the lay of the land before the end of next season?

Also, almost 4 hours??? Damn boys

Yes, if the president is hired before contract negotiations go very far down the line. The pod predicts that we will have an interim president for the next year or so, in which case, an interim president would be inclined to look at a 9-3 or 11-1 record, just extend Bobby and Kent, and nothing changes. We keep losing to Costello and the Cats.

In a perfect world, yes, we hire a new president soon, who has some stones….and cleans house in the athletic department. But I doubt that happens before contracts begin to expire and decisions have to be made.

It takes a long time to conduct a presidential search. Last year Cruzado announced her resignation in early August and the BOR didn't hire Tessman until like April. Even if Bodnar announced his resignation tomorrow, there's probably no way we could have a new president in time for the start of next school year.

Yep, that’s why it seems like every hard decision that we inevitably need to make is just going to be punted on by an interim president.

Sheila Stearns was our interim for 13 months between Engstrom and Bodnar. Probably best bet is you're looking at a 1 year minimum.

Not an unreasonable position. Who’s interested in funding the 3-3-5 to the tune of a 4-9 record vs the only teams that matter in this subdivision?

Wouldn't it be easier for this current Grizzly program that; has been to the natty, has won the conference recently, and has beat both MSU and NDSU a few times of late to keep its strong support. Allowing it to make internal needed changes (possibly coaching) to clear the hurdle they keep tripping on. Vs having funding dwindle, loss of more recruits/portal kids, and have a longer rebuild process?
