Here let me start the thread for you guys since the LG are winning. We're ahead by 14 at one point. Went cold for a little but closed out the 2nd quarter up 7 still.

Bravo on the commercials. The 5 minute long commercial for um looks really good. Jamming out to the music while I work before I realized it was a long commercial and looked down and watched. That KIA commercial i like. The one where the players talk about what cars they like. I assume are leased them for an NIL deal.

Well 2pm game. Griz get the W. Exciting game to watch. White from NAU can hit some baskets.

As Nate said in the interview after the game, you have to learn to win. Almost let it slip away but ultimately pulled it out. So I could see this being enough to instill some confidence to not play tight to hang on but to actually go out take more games.

Yeah, Lady Griz had an uncharacteristically good shooting game and won a game. Or was it that NAU just lost the game due to a bad first quarter. Just goes to show, You don't always lose it at the end. The early parts of the game can be just as important.

Lady Griz played only 7 players this game.

Adria Lincoln did suit up for the game with a knee brace on. Would Nate actually have played her if there was a chance? Doubt it but it looked like maybe she wanted to play.

Adria Lincoln wasn't even in the building yesterday. I would know because I was at the game. I'd presume the player in the knee brace had to be Ava Cossette, who has played sparingly this season and mostly been used in garbage time.

As for my big takeaways from yesterday, they played like a team that really wanted to win, but needed to do a better job of closing it out. I give NAU and their coach Laura Dinkins a ton of credit for being ready to play, but the Lady Griz were simply the better team in the end.

I love that Draya Wacker has kept up her great play of late, and Kennedy Gillette finally had a big game of her own.

The big thing they need to work on is taking better care of the ball. They won in spite of turning the ball over 19 times (compared to NAU who only turned it over 7 times).

LG looked better against NAU, a home game. A lot of factors, biggest one we were more competitive with this 3-4 team. And our stat's way better shooting, less turnovers, better scoring contributions by players Land Kennedy Shubert Wacker, off game for Avery, seemed somewhat tentative. Looked like we picked up on defense, more aggressive. So hopefully this synergy is the platform we have patiently waiting for. Layups..got to make them, slacking off at times on defense with unguarded opponents, rebs, slacky passing at times, passing to open players/assists areas we need to get a grip on. Upcoming games with Weber 0-6 conf, and Idaho St 4-2 conf could be the ladder of confidence we need. I predict we'll settle for at best bottom 3rd of the conf, we just don't have the finesse and teamplay compared to those teams in the middle and top of the conference. We'll see!

Maybe it was Ava, but the hair looked darker than what her hair looked like in the roster, closer to the color of Adria's hair. Plus, I knew Ava wore a knee brace, so it must have been her.

Yes, I agree with about the game but I do not treat one game as a trend. Until they can pull off a game like this again, like maybe later this week, I may start to think that they are improving and not just a one off. Right now, I still consider this game as uncharacteristic of the team. Except Wacker has improved every game since Konig was injured. Donarski still doesn't turn the ball over that many times even with handling the ball more often since Konig was injured but she still can't shoot. Waddington has turned the ball over 5 times in 3 of the last 4 games but was 2 of 7 from right underneath the basket yesterday. Maybe has too many things going on in her head.

I will excuse the 5 turnovers from Wacker, I think may be she could be starting to take more chances due to her increasing confidence. The number of turnovers should improve with time for her.
