I do find it ironic that you point out that everyone after Provience was "depth" then say "we're gonna depend on the depth because of the starters we lost"...
That's fair. I didn't expand on those players because it's not the Bobcat board and I didn't think you'd care, but sure, I can do that.
Wilson was QB3. Talented player, was a very hyped recruit, but got passed up on the depth chart when the new OC came in last year. He's leaving so he can play. Lamson and Duchien (QB2) are both coming back, so it doesn't really hurt.
Harmon was a decent ST player who was never going to get actual snaps. He got his degree and now he's going down a level to get some playing time. Happy that he gets to end his career that way, great kid.
King could never break through in the WR room. Pretty much never played unless it was a blowout. Only losing one WR, so it's not a huge deal.
Ohalete was one of the DB transfers they took in after losing a bunch last year. Never saw any time, I don't think he was very good, they were just desperate for some "veteran" play back there.
Trimble was a WR that I think was actually pretty talented, but every time he got into the lineup ended up getting hurt. Wasn't playing at all by the end of the year, and again, only lost one WR out of that room.
Thornhill was a true freshman DE that I think could have been a player in a few years, but got homesick and just ended up not being a good fit. This was the one I was most disappointed about because I thought he had some talent, but that's how it goes.
Sounds rude to say, but none of these guys are hard to replace. The current freshman class will have developed enough that they can slide into those spots without any concern. So yes, it is depth they're losing, but not exactly important depth. Mostly just guys filling roster spots that had gotten passed over by more talented players.
