Facilities, strength program, analytics

That doesn't really answer the question though, which is, with all these advantages in facilities etc, why do the lines get continually pushed around in the trenches? Something in the strength and conditioning program must need improvement.
This is my opinion with no knowledge of the S&C program at Montana. I would say the answer lies in the Olympic lifts (squats, cleans, power cleans, deadlifts) along with a strong plyometric program. As Norsky 19 says, the program needs to have a yearly schedule to develop mass, build a base, and increase flexibility/mobility, develop strength and power, increase explosiveness and position strength, maintenance, and finally recovery.

I actually disagree with this. I think it’s much less of an eye sore than the overgrown 4H barn MSU built. Especially when it is bigger than their pos stadium that sits 20 feet away from it.
You have to be joking. This is absolute copium on your part. It looks cheap, trashy and out of place. Anyone with even a semblance of taste thinks it’s ugly as sin.

Had guests in from Seattle this summer that absolutely raved about Missoula, but could not fathom why we would put something so lackluster in such a prime location

Where else would you have put it, the oval? Campus isn’t overflowing in empty fields.

Either build a brick and mortar with some semblance of aesthetic appeal worthy of the location or don’t do it at all.

Bozeman and the Dakotas get actual buildings done, so why can’t we?

It’s half ass by definition when you have to inflate it to be functional and can be undone by a flying pair of scissors.

1. It's a practice facility, not artwork.
2. It's fulfilling its purpose
3. It's better than nothing
4. This is a dumb thing to argue about

This is a sad rationale for doing something. Do it right or don’t do it at all.

The reality is it’s ugly as sin, while simultaneously being in one of the most gorgeous spots on campus. Quite the juxtaposition.

What’s done is done and I understand its utility, but the whole thing feels and looks inferior to me.

My personal opinion is recruits care more about the utility than the aesthetics. The majority of Big Sky and FCS teams have no indoor practice facility.

Let's say the Griz build something like you are suggesting. What happens in 10 years when they do another expansion of the stadium and need more parking and improvement for access into and out of the stadium via the Madison St. bridge?

After a full page, we get your message that you don't like our IPF. OK, let's record that; now can we move on? Meanwhile, it's serving its purpose well and we will get used to its external appearance which you have denigrated with some level of hyperbole.

I’d be curious to know, I wonder if NDSU actually saves money by renting, not owning, the Fargo Dome.
I have been told the annual rent on the Fargodome for ndsu is around $ 225,000.
They have no capital expenditure for stadium construction, maintenance, improvements, and expansion.
I think their program would not be as dominant if they had invested in a stadium because the other areas would not have been as well funded.
Many bison fans keep stating the citizens of ND would not approve a bond to build NDSU a stadium. Did we ever vote on a bond issue for either WaGriz or Bobcat Stadium?

It looks like total shit from the outside and is an eyesore for the campus.

The optics of an inflatable, temporary building versus a brick and mortar are not good by virtue of comparison.

I know it serves a purposes, but I really wish the Athletic Department would’ve just waited rather than half ass it.
All you had to do is write a big fat check. You could have been a happy camper then.

Nailed it. Although squats, deadlifts and bench press are competitive "Powerlifting" lifts, whereas Olympic lifts are Clean and Jerk and the Snatch. But you're absolutely correct on all points. Unfortunately, it's really hard to keep good SC staff at the FCS because the pay is crap. I made 4X the money in the WAC and Mountain West.

Cough up $40-50 million and I am sure they'd be glad to build it. All it takes is money; lots of it.

In my view, the facility was done right, and is very nice on the inside, and it was done in an affordable way. I couldn't care less what it looks like on the outside. I've been over there scores of times and it looks perfectly fine. I'm agreeing with you and pretty much addressing the post you responded to.

ASU was still using an inflatable bubble as of last season. I am fine with doing what a lot of people consider one of the most innovative programs in FBS is doing.

The Facility was placed in one of the nicest spots on campus and it sticks out like a sore thumb. It ruined the beautiful location forever. It's not the facility itself for me. I think you can judge if the facility is worth it by asking the athletes. Preferably ones that are not there any longer.
