Can't wait

The sole focus of this offseason for the coaching staff needs to be to devise a plan to win in Bozeman. There's a real possibility that the number one seed will once again be decided in the Brawl. This should be a major point of discussion in the offseason for the coaches. How do we win in Bozeman? What will it take? Because if they do find a way to win that game, then the odds of winning the national championship sky rocket. How badly do you wanna win the natty Bobby? Especially since it's a contract year and there's a lot on the line next year for the future of the program.

If we have to run a hundred trick plays to win the game, then fine. So be it. Next year, you gotta do whatever it takes to get the job done in Bozeman.
I read the same concept a year ago.....a year later two more losses and another year of replacing basically all but one defensive starter

I don’t think anybody said that last year. Last year everybody was saying let’s not lose 5 games and bow out in the second round.
Correct even the coaches and media had the Griz picked to finish 5th in the Big Sky….and they finish 3rd in all of FCS. Sucks to drop 2 to cats but they outperformed basically every single metric in terms of record and wins and semis trip

At the risk of being called a bad fan again, I don't see how outperforming low expectations is much of anything to brag about.

You’re a bad fan mom and so am I. I love the Griz and the university, and how can you not love some of the guys we have had in Hauck’s second stint.

However…..in the last 5 years everyone has said that the FCS runs through Montana and the Dakotas…. and even with making the semis this year and the championship game 2 years ago…..we are the only team out of the top 4 (NDSU, SDSU, MSU, UM) now not to have a win in Bozeman and a national championship! 🤷🏼‍♂️

2-7 in the Cat Griz rivalry was bad enough for MSU to move on from Rob Ash. What does that say about UM in comparison to MSU if 2-7 in the rivalry isn’t bad enough to move on from Hauck 2.0?
In fairness, despite what people like Colter and so may say, it was more than just losing to the Griz. That clearly played a huge role in it, but MSU was starting to slip under Ash, and it was pretty clearly to anybody who was paying close attention that it wasn't going to get better. He truthfully should have been fired a year earlier, but that wouldn't have been as easy to sell to the overall fanbase.

I wish I had your optimism but I don't. I think the recruiting class has been good and the transfer class has been really good, but some things aren't changing. Playing in Bozeman, with the same defensive scheme, same co DCs, and same S& C program, I don't feel good about it. Maybe between now and then things will drastically improve and I will change my mind. We will see.
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one

Mom - you are a top-10 eGriz.com poster.

But, this is what I am talking about when I say - lack of perspective.

There are program goals - we all know what they are. GRIZ fell short of them - all agree. BH / Staff / players / fans have high expectations and that is good.

There are also season over season expectations. This season - the Griz exceeded those expectations. None of us knew what to expect from KAY...none of us knew what to think about the defense...so many unknowns.

Tired of the negativity on the site - especially from all the new posters who log-in to shit on the program. They can all kick rocks.

But, not you mom - you are a good fan.

What mom said. Every year, optimism begins in Jan/Feb, builds throughout spring and fall camps, then, almost like clock work we will begin to see/say the same things we have the past ????? how many years?
We need improvement on the O and D lines. Can we win in Bozangeles? Can we make the semis? Do we have a shot? Can we stop anyone on third and long? Etc. Etc. Same song and dance every year. Yes, we'll have a good team. Yes, we'll win a bunch of games. Yes, I'll be there screaming at several of them. Yes, we'll be fun to watch - -until we aren't. I'll keep my optimism in check, but remain eternally hopeful.
(Losing to the scum and having to cancel the room in Nashville left a deep wound)

Go Griz!
No. 2 in nation in 2023. No. 3 in nation in 2025. Right around the top.

If Michigan or Ohio State goes 2-7 against their rivals, watches them win a championship, loses every game in their opponent's stadium by 20-40, with every indication that such things will continue, tell me how positive they would be.

Besides you (and you have been on fire this fall), and in no particular order, the best posters in my view are: edit: AZGriz, 1122, Brint, Seamus, Hooked Oldskookgriz, Taber, Ken, Rule, Alabama, Idaho, Spartan, GrizTexas, the guy from Canada who isn't posting much now (blanking on his name), there are a couple posters with Billings or some derivation in their names (can't recall the exact names), PGM, oredigger, Reinell, City, Native, and some of the other basketball posters, argh, there are some others that have names that look like many others (so I don't recall them), HHH (3/4 of time), I like 68 and Spanks too, a very occasional one named Irish, or something like that (he always has good info), Everett (2/3 of time), a few Cats on occasion. My apologies to some I have surely omitted. When I see them in the future, and there are about a half dozen of them, I will try to edit here and add them. A couple of them are provably lawyers, just can't recall the names. A few others, like da Boyz, have dropped out of my list in the last year or so. Edit: Raider, argh. More will come to mind.

The situation is different for FBS coaches making 7 figures per year. That's not FCS or Montana.
