Harper in the Portal

I actually had a feeling this was going to happen. I almost asked about it in a different thread, but didn't want to be accused of speaking it into existence hahaha. That said, I think the new players and what they already have will take up the slack nicely.

No way he is leaving because he may have to "compete to keep his job." Good players transfer for many reasons and that is rarely if ever one of them. Your better players are the ones who tend to transfer off of a solid FCS team. Their hope is they can get picked up by an FBS school. . or it may just be something personal. Having to compete for a spot is really not a reason to go into the portal. The only guys like that would be walk-ons who have really never played. We tend to get FBS guys that didn't play and hope to get a shot with an FCS team. I am not a fan of the narrative that guys leave because of competition. Great athletes thrive on competition and believe they are the best. If they like the school they are currently at they will do all they can to make the lineup. Let's just wish him well, and realize we are in a transfer portal era.

I have know idea how that would happen either but in today's world it seems like everyone likes being a private eye and digging into information that one always wonders "how did he know that"...case in point all the $hit that appears on egriz! Some good... some not so good...

Yeah - this era of NIL college football presents more "new reasons" for transferring. One is that there are players that have < 2% chance of playing in the NFL and getting NFL money, but they might be able to get upper-5-figures NIL that helps them get financially-stabilized coming out of college. Just my 2 cents worth

I’m familiar with his former alias. One of these days (when I’m not golfing) I will continue my chat GPT psychological evaluation on him. With a bigger sample it will yield some more telling results I’d imagine.
