Wonder if he can talk Bayliss Flynn into coming back. Along with Kayla Rendon-Bushmaker now that Eli Gillman is staying. Those two would be a good foundation to build around!If true are we expecting him to bring over players from UMSL

Does anyone know if Rendon-Bushmaker has eligibility left? I assumed no based on when the injury happened… soccer is so weird with injury redshirts. Similar thing happened a few years ago with Walters tearing an ACL in Mid Sept prior to conference and didn’t get an extra year.Wonder if he can talk Bayliss Flynn into coming back. Ahh that’s right - thanks for jogging my memory on KRB. Too many acl injuries last season…KRB got injured during an exhibition match I am pretty sure she got injured during an exhibition match vs. Calgary. She absolutely has eligibility, but I don’t think she wanted to use it, but I am sure any of the coaches hired would ask her to make sure.
Flynn is leaving because she graduates and has career/school plans that the UM can’t offer her. My kid talked to Flynn late November/Early December and she mentioned a few prestigious schools who had reached out to her after her portal announcement. I would be shocked if she stayed with the excitement she had for leaving.
idk how how it’s a negative a guy wants to be the Head Coach at Montana instead of a DII school. He’s been there done that. Look at it as “he’s hungry” “wants to grow” “wants to prove himself at the d1 level” then it’s a positive! And isn’t he currently at a d2 school not d3?Have been following the board and the Women's soccer program with the change taking place this season and wanted to chime in. I read somewhere that someone thought this message board could influence the hiring decision, if that is the case we have MUCH LARGER PROBLEMS!
Program has been very successful under coach Chris but he has consistently been looking for an exit ramp and step up due to many factors. Some being program support (or lack thereof), and an opportunity in a conference that has a better standing in the Women's soccer world. WSU provides both, but maybe not as far above our conference considering the new Pac12 is really just the MW revised now.
Our options are going to be limited due to the financials, the conference, and the administrative support. Of the 3 finalists, I am sure the all have positives and negatives but the hiring needs to be announced this week so that recruiting and building the program can begin with all of the player exits. I am sure they all can coach, but I think beyond that we need a strong recruiter and someone who can put together a good staff including keeping coach James.
As far as what I can see some positives and negatives for each option;
Willamette HC - Good: experience as a HC at various levels, Alumni, knows Montana Negative: Poor record for teams as HC at all levels, Current in DIII program
UM-SL HC - Good: DII & DIII HC experience, DI Assistant experience, Record in latest DIII program, knows Montana Negative: Only 1 season in current role and already looking to jump, limited D1 experience, DII record poor, Current in DIII program
BSU AHC - long AHC experience in successful DI program, primary recruiter for BSU, loyal to program, knows Montana, Current DI program Negative: No College HC experience in any Division
With Chris leaving and transferring many players with him. Would any of these incoming coaches be trying to bring their players with them and if so, what level players are they?
They had a good year last year so I’d think there should be some talent that can come with him!If true are we expecting him to bring over players from UMSL
They did but going D2 to D1 can be a big jump in talent and speed, soccer IQThey had a good year last year so I’d think there should be some talent that can come with him!
This isn't your first UM-hiring rodeo. You know it takes forever for the new hire to contact current employer and inform currents players, do a background check, and hassle over contact details. Happens every time for every hire.We seem to be in absolutely no hurry. It's honestly kind of a bad look at this point. Might as well just wave the white flag on next season.
Oh I know. Remember how long it took for Stef Ewing to get hired? Same thing with Doug Fraley too.This isn't your first UM-hiring rodeo. That’s understandable but in this situation there’s 6 months to get a team together.This isn't your first UM-hiring rodeo. Any real insight on who was offered.
Incorrect. Committee recommended Weber last Friday after Cavallo left campus. Cavallo is back-up.Committee members think it’s Cavallo but HR is terribly slow. Fingers crossed Kent announces Friday
