The value of a successful football team / visible football coach to your campus

Far be it for me to criticize the father of the fake field goal—punt—touchback but comparing Sixx to Cignetti in any significant way is laughable. Yes, they both are College football coaches that have two arms and two legs.

These losses to the cats have really impacted some of you. Get ahold of yourselves. You’re acting like cat fans.

Not saying I supported Royce. We definitely disagreed when we talked. But he engaged, pushed back. I hate what he did to UM. But I respected that he was out in the tailgates engaging with anlumni after firing Pflu and ODay. Takes some balls.
Having balls is not a descriptor that comes to my mind in my interaction with Engstrom. He wasn't even a good chemist.

Back-to-back dumb-ass posts. We'll done.

Royce = Good.
Bodnar = Bad.

🤡

You are on an island alone dude.
Yeah....he does push ups after football scores too!

And posts back to back miniscule increases in enrollment making UM the "fastest growing" university in MT!

the point hard to understand? Recruiting has been amazing, recruiting Montana kids has sucked balls. Got it kids?

Got it. I, myself, am a top notch chef, but I’m really bad at creating and preparing recipes.

In seriousness, I’m just wondering if we might have had a bit of a Barry Zuckerkorn situation. Say, “He’s very good” enough times to prevent objective assessment, which leads to illogical positions (i.e., “recruiting was awesome, but for a huge part of it. That sucked balls.”). 🤷‍♂️

The biggest difference between the two programs is defense. Let’s be clear, the saying that defense wins championships is absolutely correct. Lamson is a very good QB and the Cats offense is top level. Beatable? Definitely. Especially is you have some guys up front that can shut down the run. Recruiting is a problem and because of in state players? Maybe or maybe not. Unless the Griz whiffed on a couple of big DT’s it probably isn’t. The lines and the defensive scheme are the problem. It’s the difference in both games where the Griz lost.
Paul Brott 300 pound 1st team all conference defensive lineman from Billings West would have helped our defense out a lot if he had come here so recruiting in state players specifically Billings and more specifically Billings West has been a problem.

Getting a Brott to UM would have been amazing recruiting for sure!

Would have been like the neighbors getting a Janacaro.

Imagine if we got the Brotts and Dowlers all to UM. There used to be a time when UM was the preferred team for guys from Billings West. We won a championship in 2001 with a quarterback from Billings West.
Yeah Johnny Montana was awesome!

In state recruiting has really taken a turn.

John Edwards leading the Griz to a championship made an entire generation of guys growing up in the west end want to play for the Griz because the star player was someone from their neighborhood. One of those guys is Brady Gustafson who would go on to throw 350 yards and 4 touchdowns against MSU to get Rob Ash fired 14 years later. I am nervous something similar is going to happen with Taco Dowler leading MSU to a championship. In my opinion we need to put more emphasis on recruiting players from Billings West moving forward.

What hes saying is Brotts family is scats. Super slim we would have gotten him no matter how the recruiting was handled.
From what I understand their family became scats because of Choate which is when the in state recruiting turned. Their dad Curt played basketball at MSU Billings when it was Eastern Montana College and not associated with MSU at all so he didn’t go to MSU Bozeman.

So you would have recruited Wilson?
