Griz O Line and D Line from Roster

I'm not sure if this information is somewhere else. If so, mods feel free to delete. I bolded the Griz who are R. Jr. or older. This is NOT a statement on if or who the Griz need to bring in. It's a snapshot of what the Griz have.

I wanted to provide it because when I went to the roster I didn't realize the numbers and experience the Griz have for both OL and DL. It helps me to know what the Griz have. I'm hoping it can be of benefit to others during this open transfer portal period and into the spring.

Offensive line:
Austin Buehler (55) - R. Jr - 6' 5" 285lbs
Lincoln Hoefer (61) - R. Fr. - 6' 6" 279lbs
Kaikoa Kanakaole (63) - R. Fr. - 6' 5" 335lbs
Matt Hilden (63) - R. So. - 6' 6" 309lbs
Ezra Meyer (66) - R. Fr. - 6' 5" 290lbs
Torin Jeske (68) - R. So. - 6' 6" 271lbs
Quinlan Hyatt (71) - R. Fr. - 6' 7" 285lbs
Trevor Steinbach (73) - R. So. - 6' 5" 300lbs
Tate Templeton (74) - R. Jr. - 6' 3" 290lbs
Carter Bowen (77) - Sr. - 6' 7" 318lbs
Lucas Freitas (78) - R. Jr. - 6' 6" 318lbs

Defensive line:
Giovanni Pifferini (42) - Sr - 6' 4" 230lbs
Isaac Keim (49) - R. So. - 6' 4" 265lbs
Spencer Tripp (51) - R. Fr. - 5' 11" 264lbs
Jake Mason (57) - R. Jr. - 6' 2" 250lbs
Cooper Buffington (91) - R. Fr. - 6' 4" 252lbs
Zekiel Seumalo (92) - Sr. - 6' 0" 265lbs
Cole Muilenberg (93) - R. So. - 6' 5" 246lbs
Cole Harpole (94) - R. Fr. - 6' 3" 221lbs
Logan Knaevelsrud (96) - R. Fr. - 6' 4" 235lbs
Hayden Schwartz (97) - R. Sr. - 6' 4" 248lbs
Brandon Bailey (99) - R. Sr. - 6' 2" 280lbs

Wow, the D-Line is light (as in weight).
4 guys departed were 287, 252, 240 and 236. The CW DE transfer was 250 in an article I read. The returning Griz should all or mostly gain some weight/strength from 2025.

This DL in 2025 wasn't much, if any bigger. Ramos by maybe 7 pounds over the other nose's weight in 2025.

If Hayden hanks is truly signed I'd go Keim,Hanks/Bailey,seumalo for a 3 man front.

If we are going to play a true 4-2-5, we need to quit asking a Hunter Peck @ 6-2 250, to put both hands in the dirt and play a defacto DT and then bring in a LB to his left like Solo to play a defacto DE--Brock Osweiler on the second broadcast UM-MSU was confused and kept referring to Hunter as an undersized 250 lb. DT. Not being critical of Hunter or Solo--both played heorically and both were All Big Sky as a result !!!

What I am saying is we just should have left Hunter @ DE, and brought in Bailey @ 6-2, 280 to play side by side last year with Ramos and this year with Ramos' replacement at DT.

Our D line needs to get both bigger and stronger, and we need to utilize a true 4-2-5--not another 4-2-5 light--next year with two big 280-300 lb DT's playing side-by-side against good run-heavy teams or we will get run over again !!!

Hopefully two of the guys can play C so that the Griz can rotate them all season long.

Don’t forget we have a few players coming in who have game experience, it is a little better than it looks right now

It’d be cool if we ran a 4-2-5 or had run a 4-2-5. Which we don’t…and we haven’t…ever.
