Are the Cats the luckiest team ever to win the FCS national championship?

2 bad holds/snaps and 2 missed kicks late in game by ISU.

First downs 20 by Cats and 33 by ISU. 3-9 3d down efficiency for Cats.

Total Offense 471, ISU, to 381.

60 yards of offense by Cats in 2d half, I think, (excluding OT). Minus 23 yards by Cats in 2d half (excluding OT).

101 yards rushing by Cats. 46, 20 and 33 by the 2 backs on QB. 4.2 average. 10 carries by RB's. 160 yards rushing by ISU.

40, ISU, to 20 minutes TOP.

14 penalties by Cats. I thought the Cat center might end up being the ISU MVP.

ISU not going for it late on 4th and less than 1, from the MSU 21, I think.

No TO by ISU.

ISU QB 33-46.

3 sacks by ISU; 0 by Cats.

yes they are. luck or recipient of a bonehead coach? it doesn't matter. Will the reds fan base call for his head? they should. That is an extremely talented team.

The Cats had a whole lot of miscues too. Who is to say that without all the mistakes they made they would have scored more points on Illinois.

Depends on how you look at it. The other side of the coin is they won despite playing a shitty second half and overcame a billion penalties. Finding a way to win when not playing well is the mark of a champion. The Griz have won A TON of games they had no business winning...because winners find a way!

The Cats should be embarrassed to even put up a banner. Feel free to point out any other champion that was this lucky.
The Griz used to win many games like this during Bobby 1.0., which frustrated opposing teams and inspired the Cats to do better. “Good teams find different ways to win,” to paraphrase Bobby, is not a strategy exclusive to the Griz. ISU is a good team. They found a way to beat the fat fucks from NDSU, despite throwing 5 interceptions. Their “luck,” as you describe the Cats’, ran out on Monday.

If the Griz won the championship the same way the Cats did, which as you know they did not, would you be embarrassed to hang the championship flag?

The Griz have never won a game like this. Stop making up stuff.

They won end of discussion please stop talking about it
Please put me on Ignore. I know who won. I'm talking about how lucky the Cats were. Those are two completely different things. Different subjects. My Cat friends say the Cats were lucky too, and they were at the game.

While I don't necessarily disagree with you (the bubs put themselves in position to earn the breaks necessary to win), this isn't how sports discussions (and in particular sports message boards) work. If it were, there wouldn't be 33.71 billion posts and tweets over the last 5 years about how lucky the Chiefs were and how they were in the pockets of the refs.

I will put you on ignore after saying one thing to you jack, you were a not so friendly fan to my girls at a Griz fall practice this year as they were already sitting in a shaded spot before you rolled in late and your banter to them about it being your spot came of as are you kidding me instead of being silly with them, I know you do alot for the university and I am grateful for the but enough of the all high and mighty
