We're in the wake of the Cats' biggest day in over 40+ years. Of course that's the main discussion. If the Griz won a championship (humor me here) there'd be a million threads on BCN bemoaning Bobby and whatever else.

Maybe Bobcat fans remember this more clearly, but Choate said something once about how "return to dominance" was a big mistake. To paraphrase him, you have to focus on building something new, as opposed to clinging to the past. Something the Griz old guard are reluctant to do. That always stuck with me. It's probably the same kind of thing that has doomed Nebraska.

Of course that's undermined by his disastrous tenure in Nevada, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Choate has been an absolute failure at Nevada. If you think back, as a head coach he was also quite lame in Bozeman with a fifty fifty record there. He beat the Grizzlies so he was considered a hero there. Yet I don't think he is the best role model to hold up.

Ask anyone associated with MSU if they think he laid the groundwork to get their culture and program to where it is today. Things looked real dire the day Ash got fired. He turned that ship around day by day.

Thinking something is lame is not complaining. You must be defensive cus deep down you know how little brother it is. Im personally moving on from labeling you guys as little brother cus clearly you've grown up and gotten stronger. Unfortunately you still have the maturity level of a five year old.

I find your eat shit cheer vaguely humorous, though primarily it is just sad and a bad look for the State.

However, this thread is about MSU remaining Montana's perpetual little brother.

Montana significantly enlarges its stadium. MSU enlarges its stadium. Montana builds a new center for its athletes. MSU then needs to build a new center for its athletes. Montana builds an indoor practice facility. MSU then builds an indoor practice facility. Montana players created a genuinely cool legacy of #37 for Montana athletes. Thirty years later MSU needs to fabricate their "treasured legacy" of #41 to copy the Grizzlies 37. MSU is chasing behind to capture what the University of Montana has.

MSU is little brother. The pathetic cheer is another example which is simply emblematic of that fact. Talk about living rent free in your heads. From every home game in Bozeman, regardless of the opponent. To wedding dances. To virtually any gathering of cat fans. What is on your mind? Big Brother. Always Big Brother. My lord, you're in Nashville, Tennessee and your fan base is pushing every local bar to play Mony Mony. Then you finally win your first championship in more than 40 years and what comes to mind in the bubcat faithful... doing your stupid chant on national TV. Do you doubt cat fans can't help thinking about their big brothers the Montana Grizzlies?

I'm glad the cats won last night. Many on this site won't be. That doesn't matter. At the moment the cats are the best team. It is hard to get there. Enjoy it while it lasts. Though MSU remains Montana's "Little Brother". Someday, if your fans ever reach the point where they don't feel compelled to always think of Montana first, perhaps then that label will no longer fit. Yet at this point it is so deeply ingrained I don't see it happening.

If you can't see why a large contingent of Montanans visiting another city, "taking it over" and just chanting "eat shit ....." non stop in every bar/restraunt/hotel for 3 days straight reflects poorly on your fanbase and university, and our state, then I can't help you. I know you guys think its super funny and fun but literally everyone else things its trashy AF and quite stupid. FTC and FTG is all good and fun but men women and children channting about eating shit, non-stop, everywhere they go, its a bad look, and you guys are the only ones who don't see it that way.

Nobody is "complaining about the cheer". I was mocking the fact that even at your greatest success, you still can't move beyond your Griz hatred. I can just imagine you chanting that at your daughters wedding reception and then trying to convince yourself that its the Griz who really want to be like you.

Why does every poll on here have ftc as an option? Oh, but you focus on the chant and sure, its not the whole stadium doing it. But its expected here, every day of every poll. And to be clear I have no issue with it. But we're rivals. Its part of the lore and fun. Listen to Dixieland delight at an Alabama game, no matter who they play.

Ya except we don't run these polls at weddings, our kids B days, and when passing random fans in the grocery store😂. We understand theres a time and place for such childish antics. Scat fans on the other hand...🤷‍♂️

I believe it's part a great song, part funny as hell/shock factor, part easy for drunken degenerates to remember the lyrics, part thumbing their noses at Bobby ( a huge part of this is Bobby), and part the fact that it irritates the Griz. Yes, it's childish as hell, but so is your reaction to it. Like kids teasing each other on a playground.

You got it. Perseverating on this is childish. Allowing it to get to you is childish. They're teasing you. You claim to be the adult in the equation. You have the fully formed and functioning frontal lobe. Use it.
