Montana Boys

Big sky teams will never out brawn the MVC, Don Read was the last coach that really understood that. He had brains and overcame Marshalls brawn. The Bobby 1 era was horrible for me as he and Phenicie ran the the ball into the middle of the line on first down every play for years. Only this year did he use some (not enough) brain. Ah Yat could run the Read offense but the coaches are not good enough to implement it. And spare me the game has changed BS, The Griz can do it with the right coach.

Why do you insist on acting so dense?

The fact is the Cats are pulling difference-makers on a National Championship winning squad out of our own literal backyard and that is simply unacceptable.

Cats landed 8 out of the top 10 MT high school recruits last recruiting cycle. The Griz signed 1. That is never going to be a sustainable path to success for the Griz in the NIL era. And that is a failure of Bobby’s recruiting priorities.
Which is why, as I previously stated in another thread, Bobby is partially responsible for the Cats winning the championship this season. Cat fans love him……..as they should.

Bob Stitt is partially responsible as well. If he had not kicked Rob Ash’s ass so badly in Bozeman, the Cats would have kept Ash and never tasted the championship game.

On when the last time the Griz were great, possibly 2011 before the scholarships were lost from the NCAA infractions during the 2011 season. It seems like at that point Montana was still the best program in FCS. NDSU was just starting their championship run, less than 5 years removed from being D2. It seems like since the 2012 season the Griz have been good but no longer great. In 2016 the Cats rose to being good and sometime in the past few years became a great FCS team and program. 3/5 championship games MSU participated in.

From '06 to '09 the Griz lost one conference game (Weber) which was revenged in the playoffs. 32-1.
Unsatisfactory? Get real.
You neglect to mention that our only peer program in the conference was running a cocaine ring during this time.
