3 FBS games (2 losses, 1 win) with the rest being purely FCS competition.Means nothing without the context of the team played.

He laid it all out. Mercy are you one of my employees?Means nothing without the context of the team played.
Exactly and what kind of response do you think you'd get as a fan or member of the media?
Another good one when one of GSA attendees asked why we didn't return punts. His response was that punt returns were a distraction, he wanted the ball in the hands of his offense ASAP. You can't make this shit up.You mean he didn’t say:” We’re going to go for it on 4th down more…” Ha, ha…

Stitt wasn't a championship coach. Whoever hired him should be fired if they are not already gone.At a Billings spring tour stop, I asked Stitt how he planned to be more effective on the road. He glared at me, paused and deflected, never answering the question. There was a total lack of confidence that he could/would do anything about it.
Well if you liked watching it continually end up in 4th down situations that would often end up in turnover on downs. There was fleeting moments that it looked ok, but the general lack of appropriate game management in close games, made it a miserable fan experience. The Stitt bashing is weak. It has been almost a decade now since he has coached the Griz. He had some weaknesses as a head coach but his offense when it was working made some of the most fun Griz games to watch of recent memory.
To be fair I am biased because I have a family friend that has known Bob Stitt for 25 years and I have a couple friends that were on his teams. I remember the games in 2015 against NDSU at home (which was a close game), EWU and MSU (these were blowouts) it looked really good. The problem was there were also times it didn’t work which led to bad losses like against Northern ColoradoWell if you liked watching it continually end up in 4th down situations that would often end up in turnover on downs. I don't agree, but Haslam with a small group of Griz advisors hired Stitt.Stitt wasn't a championship coach. Whoever hired him should be fired if they are not already gone.

Like missed the playoffs 2 out of 3 years. Just a minor weakness. Chased off his DC, who went to the Cats showed the Cats how to beat the Griz.SOME weaknesses?
Ty Gregorak changed from the 3-3-5 to the 4-2-5 when he changed from the Griz to coaching the Cats. Gregorak, that aforementioned DC has been out of coaching football for a few years and been calls Cat games. He was on the broadcast of the first Cat Griz game this season.Like missed the playoffs 2 out of 3 years. Just a minor weakness. Also, anyone who knows Stitt and Gregorak knows their personalities and coaching styles couldn’t be anymore different. Stitt is a quiet offensive schematic offensive innovator. Even though Stitt did play football at a small college, his coaching style is aligned with someone who didn’t play the game in a lot of ways. Ty Gregorak on the other hand is an in your face, loud, intense emotional leader. Gregorak’s coaching style is never from someone who didn’t play the game.Ty Gregorak changed from the 3-3-5 to the 4-2-5 when he changed from the Griz to coaching the Cats. I know both fairly well. I know they clashed at times, but don't know the specifics. I am the one who first recommended to Stitt that he retain Gregorak. As I have said before, Stitt's college roommate is one of my best friends, so I was in touch, indirectly, with Stitt a few weeks before his hiring was announced. Also, anyone who knows Stitt and Gregorak knows their personalities and coaching styles couldn’t be anymore different.
Schematically they matched up well with each other on paper but their personalities clashed. Jeff Choate has a lot more similar of a personality and coaching style to Gregorak than Stitt does. In my opinion, that is why he left.I know both fairly well. I know they clashed at times, but don't know the specifics. I am the one who first recommended to Stitt that he retain Gregorak. Did you ever meet Stitt?Schematically they matched up well with each other on paper but their personalities clashed. Jeff Choate has a lot more similar of a personality and coaching style to Gregorak than Stitt does. In my opinion, that is why he left.
I have a few times. I met him and Gregorak when they were on the coaching staff together at UM and have seen Stitt a few times since then. I have a few friends that played for him at UM and a couple of my high school teammates played for him at CO Mines. You could say I was indirectly in contact with Stitt during that time as well. The first thing I did when I heard he was the coach was text my old teammates that were playing for him at CO Mines to see what kind of coach we were getting. I also have a family friend that used to coach at the high school Craig Ochs attended, which is 25 mins north of CO Mines and known for creating college football players. He has known Bob Stitt for 25 years. His son who is my friend wanted to play here because of the Bob Stitt connection but the Griz weren’t interested. He signed with Wyoming and played with Josh Allen instead. Here is an example of a more recent qb to come out of that high school than Craig Ochs. My friend had a teammate in his class that played at Michigan and had a cup of coffee with the Green Bay Packers. 2015 is my favorite season personally with the Griz because that was the first football season where I knew some of the players and I had more connections to our new head coach than the typical UM student. I will always remember NDSU, EWU and MSU in the regular season and SDSU in the playoffs from that season fondly.Did you ever meet Stitt?
