Losing in his backyard

So I wanna preface this by saying I’m not defending Bobby and I know we have some clear issues right now. Having said that, I do wanna point out to everyone that there were a number of MT kids (and impactful ones) that walked away from the 24 team, primarily because of injuries, that would’ve been highly impactful players for the Griz this year.

The three guys that most notably come to mind are Journey Grimsrud, Henry Nuce, and Jace Klucewich. Grimsrud would’ve been huge for us this year at RT as that’s where we had most of our issues on the OL. Nuce was a veteran and could’ve made a big difference on the DL, and Klucewich was the one bright spot of the 24 Defense and I believe would’ve been possibly the best player on this years defense.

Any way, the point is that people’s vision may have been colored a little bit this year when it comes to MT kids on both teams. We’ve got 9 MT kids in this years recruiting class and despite a one year slide in state, I’d say it appears the staff learned their lesson and are back to prioritizing in state recruiting!

A one year slide? It’s that comment that is the problem!

Nothing will change, my dads friends have been complaining about OL and DL for over 20 years of Bobby ball. They have hated it for decades and when you are honest with yourself they are right. I like Coach as a person but he doesn't have what it takes to get a team over the hump. Didn't happen when I was there and I don't see it in the future.

Fritz is not an idiot. Bobby doesn’t kick any of them around. Should his job be to kick around reporters? Bobby is a very good coach but he’s not infallible.. is he the Pope?
If you read some of Bobby’s interviews from before he left for UNLV, you might get the impression that Bobby thought he was the pope and could kick around reporters. The student newspaper was locked out from reporting on the team.

I like Bobby and I think he should continue to coach the Griz. But what Fritz wrote is fair. Michigan fell behind Ohio St and Michigan fans wanted Harbaughs head. He turned it around. Bobby has the experience and connections to get players and coaches to turn the tide. But right now the Griz are behind. And blaming a reporter whose job it is to cover sports on commenting about it is counterproductive.

The anti Hauck crowd has 15 years of in your face data. The boomers that are pro Hauck have zero rings.

It really isn't even a debate.

I have been around him, know him a bit, and saw him interact with Bobby on multiple occasions. To me, he's an idiot. I know you like him, but I don't. I saw Fritz falling a part and losing his touch before he got moved on by the Missourian. You know him earlier and long ago when he covered your high schools team. He lost it over time.

I'm saying the article is weak and the reporter is an idiot. Not blaming him for anything other than those things. Don't know what 5280 said.
