Really thought Kyle Whittingham nailed this in his introductory press conference. The guy is 66, was one of the longest tenured coaches in college football, taking over a national brand. Still gets the importance of this.
On his plans to recruit the state of Michigan
“You always want to take care of your own backyard. There's no doubt about that. We'll put a priority and an emphasis on in-state recruiting in Michigan, obviously.
I'm going to start developing relationships with the high school coaches and making sure that we get some good relationships going there with us and the staff. We'll put a lot of manpower in the state of Michigan. We'll divide the state up and get plenty of coverage.
That's really just the key is to make sure that we don't miss anybody in the state of Michigan. And then we take care of that job one, and then branch out from there.”
