The 2025 offense was unreal

I would say that fans who may be over 40 and whine this much after their team that consists of 18-23 year olds goes 13-2 could be defined as whiny old bitches.

I think it can be a classic hedge because they wrap up so much personal identity with the success/failure of the team. Keep saying we suck and will never be championship caliber, so when we get eliminated, they can be correct/told us so/etc. If we end up being the one team in the nation that wins a NC, they are happy anyway, so who cares?

Then, add internet spats into the mix (super healthy and stable 🙄), and it’s another dimension. Some can appear almost delighted in pointing out (with excruciating frequency) that they were right that we wouldn’t get it done. They can say they told everyone so, and that truly counts for something to some people. Moreover, they get to prove their internet spat opponents wrong, and that’s huge to them.

I couldn't say this any better, and you are spot on.

Oh, please. The Griz had a terrific team and great season. One of the better teams and seasons in history. For non-players, I truly don't understand the irrational focus on a rival. No one likes to lose to a rival, let alone twice, but it was still a terrific and enjoyable season. UM is/was the 2d or 3d best team in the nation.
4th best based on Saturday's loss

You forgot the personal insults and putdowns. Oh wait, that was someone else.

Not trying to be a jerk or derail your thread. But, the only stat I can think about is 13-2. Both losses to the rival. Nothing else matters in my opinion.
The only team good enough to beat us was the cats, who just happen to be our rival. I’m not escusing the losses but no reason why we shouldn’t celebrate the 13 wins. We’ll take it on the chin and focus on getting over the hump next year

This is what's amazing to me. Sometimes other teams are just a little bit better. The cats were this season. Kills me to say it, but they were marginally better. I still contend we play them 10 times we probably win 5, but we lost the only two that counts. Shit happens. But it was still an amazing and fun season. Second best team in the country.

History says the Cats would beat the Griz 8 out of 10 times. Add in the Cats beating the Griz in the Montana high school recruiting battle year after year after year.

There's about 20 other threads detailing those talks haha

Yup! Coach was just too loyal and should have had # 6 QB-ing

We will only get over the hump if this coaching staff and by extension the AD take a look in the mirror and make necessary changes. Unfortunately I have little to no faith that they will do either and I hate coming off so negative about it but they're going to have to prove it, a new Defensive scheme in particular would be a good start.

The data doesn't lie, we are 2-8 vs MSU in the last 10 matchups, we are one of the top 4 FCS schools (Dakota States and Montanas) and yet we are 4-9 against the the other top schools the last 10 years. In addition we have only won 5 Championships in Revenue Sports since Haslam took over (19.23% success rate) despite being one of the top schools in terms of Facilities, $$, support etc.

In Football and Bobby 2.0 we've literally won as many Big Sky Titles as Portland State, that's not something to celebrate. We can win except when it matters and what makes it so frustrating is that a big reason we can't get over the hump is due to self inflicted issues with Coaching, recruiting etc.

Adjustments definitely need to be made. I like where this season has us pointed, and I believe we are positioned to build off of it. There is no question this record vs the rival really isnt acceptable to anyone, so with minimal damage of players entering the portal, growth and maturity of our young players currently on roster, and some key additions from the portal, we should be positioned well for next season. But certain things NEED to be addressed to do so.

I think what's frustrating me so much is that a blind man could see what needs to be changed and yet nothing has been done about it. I know I don't know everything when it comes to Football but for the love of god:

-Get rid of the 3-3-5, Schmidt and Colter pointed out since we've been running it MSU and the Dakota States are averaging 250 yards rushing a game against us. Overall stats don't mean crap when we're padding them against teams like Portland State and Northern Colorado.

-Spend the $$, go get a A+ Strength and Conditioning coach, Offensive Line Coach and put our efforts in recruiting and the portal on the Trenches first.
