To Nick and Jack

I think you need to bone up on the "defenseless player" part of the targeting rule.

Key Aspects of the Rule
  • Definition:
Targeting involves initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet or hitting the head/neck area of a defenseless opponent with the helmet, shoulder, forearm, hand, or elbow.

    • Defenseless Player:
Includes players in the act of or just after catching a pass, those who have given themselves up (like sliding), or players in the tackle box subject to a blindside block.
    • Indicators:
Replay must confirm indicators like launching, leading with the crown of the helmet, or lowering the head to make forcible contact.
Was he defenseless though ? He was ball carrier at that point. It was close. This is my point.

@nicktaber58 Listen lil bro. I’ve been civil except to hoops. You literally asked the question “was he defenseless though?” So, I answered your question on why he was. You get hit with facts and you resort to insults cause you know you’re wrong.

It was a good solid hit. The new weak rule makes it illegal so the weak enjoy the outcome.

That hit didnt matter one bit in the game and neither did the other one. It's football next man up, do your job and control what you can control. Refs are not something you can control.

We lost its over it was just one game

You can sum up Hoops posts like this:

"I talk to the coaches, and they tell me that they're doing a great job and know way more than anybody else here. Anybody that dares to question them, and by proxy, myself, is a know nothing never played football idiot. The coaches, and the players that I give things to, all tell me that they're doing great and there's nothing to worry about."
And, yes, that's a good summary. Talk to the coaches and other people who know the game and who watch the tape. You make up what you say.

A hip drop tackle isn't a penalty in college. The targeting couldn't have been more clear. Literal teach tape for refs on what targeting is. It wasn't intentional, but it was targeting. You get helmet to helmet contact like that, it's going to get called every time. If the roles were reversed, you'd call it a dirty hit by MSU.
The name hip drop is not a specific penalty in NCAA football, but the exact same action has been outlawed and is a penalty. Do some research before you post your nonsense. It's a subset of unnecessary roughness.

Genuine question. If Harper wasn’t ejected earlier, does he make a better play on the ball on 3rd and 20? The guy the let catch it, was that Harper’s replacement?
If nos. 3 and 84 played for the Griz and Dowler, receiver and Lencioini (or the top blocking Cat DE) not played for the Cats, would the game have been different?
