Any other coach go 0-2 against the Cats and keep their job?

I just got back from Bozeman.

This loss is on the coaches. Those kids were ready and their leadership did not put them in a position to win, hard stop.

We continue to live in the past, trying to capture what we had.

In two games this coaching staff handed the future to the Cats.

This may not age well, but we had 8 home games, and had the Cats at home, and we melted down on 3rd and 20 - it’s literally unbelievable.

The future belongs to the Cats.

The only good thing about the drive home was listening to JMU getting rolled in Eugene like it was the first game in September.

Yep I’m still in shock about that debacle that was giving up a 3rd and 20 on their own 12 yard line and not only giving up a first down but a 88 yard TD. You couldn’t even make that shit up if you tried.

Difficult to hand them something they already had.

most definitely on the coaches and staff. It is clear as day the Cats are stronger in the 4th quarter. That’s the strength coach. They also test better at pro days.

We are stuck in my opinion. People are too afraid to get away from Hauck because how the early 2010’s unfolded. However, this university is in much better shape now and would attract better candidates. This SHOULD be a stepping stone job at this level. That’s what we would want.

Hauck is getting out schemed and out coached in his specialty area. Again, he will win a lot of games because the FCS as a whole is not very good. 4 good teams. When was the last time Bobby won in Bozeman?

I think it’s time to start looking and scouting the country for a change in the next 2 years.

Did anyone notice that SDSU ran the same “post” from the same position on the field, and in his press conference Bobby says they ran the post even though we were in the post defense, and he said the same thing yesterday. This is why it’s coaching.

I get it, lots of people want Bobby and Co gone. But who do people want to replace him with? If it was my decision and I am glad it’s not because I am not qualified for that, I’m getting a young guy from outside the state of Montana.

not sure any program would fire a 13-2 coach that was in the semi's this year and in the finals last year. Would really suck if a program did something like that.
Finals in the 2023-24 season, last year we almost missed the playoffs, and we came close to missing the playoffs several other times since 2018….in a conference that has a lot of doormats. And we have made the semis twice since Bobby returned in 2018. 2-6 (I think, the losses kind of blend together) against our rivals in that time.

Theres a valid case for firing Bobby.

There is never a case for firing a coach that's 12-2...!

No one is buying what you’re selling. There is more context than just that record. No one cares about the 13 when it’s against the little sisters of the poor and the 2 is against the rival we have historically always been better than. Pointing to the record after the complete failure to even learn from the first game against the cats is a sign that this is as good as it gets. This program has too much financial backing, fan engagement, and institutional support to settle for being the Cats’ punching bag that you’d have us be.

okay, so you would be thinking along the same lines as Haslam. It’s too bad we don’t have a guy like Costello, who questions everything.
I'm not in the camp that thinks Haslam is the problem, Bobby wields lots of power in the Athletic department by virtue of what he has built over the years while at Montana. Bodnar may be the one who has to question the current state of affairs... which IMHO would still have both Hauck and Haslam returning...

I think any coach that had this season would keep the job. It isn't a Bobby thing.
Isn’t it? I’ll ask the same questions I asked of 406_Gainz on Twitter:

1) is double digit winning seasons, but only one BSC title every 5 years or so, and a win over the Scats every 5 years or so good enough? And if the answer to that is NO, then;
2) What are the changes that need to be made? And…
3) Does Bobby have the willingness or ability to MAKE those changes, especially if they involve getting rid of some of his cronies/relatives, changing scheme, etc.

Because at the end of the day, whether it’s talent, recruiting, development, scheme S&C, or coaching, those are ALL on Bobby. That’s why he’s the HEAD Coach.

Yet we (collectively) keep doing the same thing year after year and expecting a different result magically.

Is it a Kent thing? A Bodnar thing? Where does the buck stop, HHB?

And get ready for another one.
