Therein lies the difference between the two teams. The cats recruit high school players, put them through a robust strength and conditioning program where they get huge. It is a systematic approach that is obviously working. The Griz are rolling the dice each year. Really wish they would bite the bullet and go the high school recruit route.

On the LOS the Cats outweighed the Giz by a total of 50 lbs per player. We will need to recruit or get from th portal heavier DL players who are athletic.

I agree with you but, according to Bobby and others who run this defense like Tony White, they run this defense because:
1) it adds depth to the defense
2) it’s hard to recruit big defensive linemen
But I notice Montana state has no problem recruiting good sized d Linemen.

Nope, not easy at all - but I think it gives you a lot higher probability of having sustained success. Better than tossing darts at transfers. NDSU and SDSU have proven this to be true.

A lot of the all time best Griz lineman such as JD Quinn and Levi Horn were transfers. I can’t think of a lot of Montana high school kids on the offensive line that the Griz developed into NFL level guys.

Hard to produce NFL talent at this level regardless. Why is it so hard to see that the current approach isn't working?
