No. 3 Montana at No. 2 Montana State FCS semifinals - Skyline Sports

Right. Because there's only two good teams in the FCS. And pretty much all the best players play for them. And they play on Saturday.
So it would be fair to say that he has seen receivers like the cat receivers when he’s had to practice against a couple of the best in the country all fall, except when he was out with the injury of course. Or does practice not count?

If you’re not interested in listening to the whole 53 minute break down with Sammy here’s a quick summary:

Ay Yat is ok but he won’t be able to handle the atmosphere in the kitty box because it’s the best in the world.

Lambskin was able to handle Wa Griz because he’s the best quarterback in the world.

Loud’s back at corner for the Griz but he’s never seen a receiver like Steele, who is the best receiver in the world.

Griz o line is going to have to play other worldly because the cats have the best defensive line in the world.

Griz receivers won’t be a factor because the cats DB’s are the best in the world.

Sammy’s unbiased opinions were overshadowed unfortunately

Saved 53 minutes of your life. You’re welcome
I think we listened to two different interviews.

They discussed how they thought Ah Yat would handle the atmosphere, because he has never played somewhere like that. It's a fair question to ask, UM has not played anywhere hostile this year. So it's going to be a talking point. Colter actually said WaGriz is the best, and then Bobcat Stadium after that, so not sure how you came away with them saying Bobcat Stadium is the best in the world.

Colter never said Steel was the best receiver in the world, let alone on MSU. What he said was that he thinks Loud will be able to cover all of those guys, but it's also the best WR corps that Loud has played against to date, so there is some question there. Again, it's just a talking point.

I didn't hear where anybody said anything about UM's receivers not being a factor? I heard Colter talk about how he enjoys seeing the quality of CB's in Montana this year, and mentioned Loud, Carson Williams, and Seth Johnson as FBS quality players.

Both Colter and Sammy said that UM's offensive gameplan should try to get the ball out quick to counter MSU's DL, but nobody said anything about MSU's DL being significantly better than UM's OL. In fact, Colter and Sammy both said that they thought certain individuals from SDSU and USD's DL were very good and the OL handled that fine.

I think you're viewing anything that isn't saying UM is clearly the best as being biased against them, which is really something.

I heard Sammy give very unbiased opinions. Everything I heard from Colter was “yeah but” like Ay Yat is good but the cats… or Loud is good but the cats… or the Griz o line has been playing good but the cats…
And who knows, maybe he thought he needed to counter Sammy’s opinions.
In his podcast with Schmidt today he did a great job leading the conversation and same with Jordan.
I generally think he does a good job but it’s impossible to not see his cat bias show up at times

Again, of course they're going to talk about good things from both programs. They're both good!

I've said this before, I'll say it again, the people who think Colter is overly biased continually show that they're the ones who are tremendously biased.

Of course I’m biased but I will gladly admit that both teams are good. It’s proven on the field. The difference is that I’m not going to say the bobcat o line is good but… no, they’re just good, there are no “buts”. Both Dowlers are awesome ball players, no buts. They’re going to do there thing and they’re good at it. The end. I can and will admit things that are right in front of my face, like Colters bias.

To have an hour long podcast, you have to be a contrarian or play devil's advocate with your co-host or with yourself. You have to play both sides. And it's easy to play both sides with these teams because they are the two best teams in the country.

I have 19 years of experience, 7,900 written articles on Skyline alone, record 25-40 hours a week on both teams and the rest of the Big Sky Conference....every piece of content has a different tenor. It wouldn't work and wouldn't be successful or popular if I was just the same with the same takes on every single show all the time. I am the host. I cater to my analysts. That's the model.

It's why it's funny when certain posters say we've "hitched our wagon to Schmidt".... I do 45 minutes a week during football season only with Andrew. He's great, his satire is great, he's sharp. But it's less than 10 percent of the content we do during the football season and it's less than 5 percent during a given calendar year.

The fact that that @RobGriz thinks this episode is so incredibly bias....but that Bobcat Nation thinks that we have all but called the game as a 50-point Griz win basically tells me all I need to know about if we are cutting it down the middle.

And like I always say, please consume ALL the content we produce between ESPN MT and Skyline Sports. And if you do, and you still think there's a lean one way or the other, I don't know what to tell you. I work 75 hours a week to make sure that the formula is balanced. If we don't perfectly hit the mark every week, well, I'm a human. But there's no question that I do my best and work my hardest to make sure we have the best semblance of balance that we can.

Last point here is that this is all entertainment for fun. My crew has great football acumen. And we speak our minds. But we are not trying to argue to sway the court of public opinion. We want to entertain and inform you. So to vilify us or make it personal when we are truly just trying to create discourse and community seems pretty silly. BUT if you choose to, it simply gives me another opportunity to market our business. SO for that, I thank you wholeheartedly.

Appreciate EVERYONE for listening and engaging!

Do you know the last time Loud went against Wortham and Davis and Bohanon on a regular basis? August. They don't go starters vs starters during the regular season very ofen. Loud has been going against the scout team, but that's only when he's been practicing. And he didn't practice for half or more of the season.

It was a good episode. You do a great job and I appreciate all the work you do. But what about the development of Patrick O'Connell and Dylan Cook? A D2 baseball player and walk on into NFL player and an NAIA QB into an NFL lineman? Gradney into an All Big Sky corner. They are just a few of the examples of Montana talent the Griz have developed. BTW the older Grebe never played 6 man. He played all four years at Roundup and he was as dominant of a Class B player as there has been in the last couple decades and then he went to prep school out east. He was recruited by a lot of schools outside of Montana. He was a well known talent. Probably the best high school basketball player in the state in any class his senior year. So if Ah Yat and Gilman are guys that were so talented in your mind they didn't need development so was Grebe. I think Schmidt is smart and entertaining and knows the game. But no doubt he is a prick . That probably adds to the entertainment. Go Griz.

I would assume the masses are enjoying Skyline sports and the ESPN content immensely. I know I sure am! I can't get enough of it, especially in November and December. Thanks for all you do Colter, it is greatly appreciated.

Such bologna.
Who is the bub version is Schmidt?
Who is The Griz version of Stuber?
When have you ever reported a critical thing about the bubz?
Have you ever said anything like they have a loser mentality?
Have you ever advertised that you would be critical of The Griz but turn it into a bub bash fest?

Colter and Skyline have hit the lottery of sports coverage this year. Both teams they cover are meeting in a huge Semi-final game, and a second meeting of the year between the teams.
This has to be something that Colter has thought about over the years with a "what if".
I don't have to like all the content but sure as hell am glad to have something to get me through the week feeding my sick obsession of Grizzly athletics! lol

Hey I appreciate the work you guys do. I do have to wonder why the content, regardless of bent is so cat view point heavy. I currently count 8 cat view point/player podcast segments. There’s no way to hide the biases of Rider, Flynn, Leo, Gillogly and toM StUber. On the flip side, Sammy has to reaffirm his commitment to unbiased analysis. And Tripp is in the same boat. So the question is, how are we as your audience supposed to feel about the heavy discrepancy in view points or ties to one side? Even the media guys you’re bringing in to cover this stuff are cat guys. I understand you’ve stated in the past that you only get so much from UM but you have to understand why Griz fans see you guys as cat glazers, regardless of your actual intentions. Even cwdks is turning out to have cat bias. Again I do appreciate the work, but I don’t blame your casual audience for viewing it as slanted.

Whatever. Especially the talent comments. They watch with bias-they talk with bias.
Montana held msu to 24 offensive points. msu held Montana to 28.
