How much will Griz be favored over the Cats?

The Griz are rolling since the glitch with the Cats.

Have scored 50 and 52 points in the playoffs against 2 Missouri Valley teams (one of whom beat the Cats earlier in the season in Bozeman, compared to the Cats' 21 against Yale and 41 against SFA. Total margin of victory has been 51 for UM and 24 for MSU.

UM has had 53 first downs in those games, 1001 yards of TO, and Ah Yat has been 50-67 (almost 75%) for 7 TD's with no picks. Cats have had 45 first downs, 814 of TO, and Lamson has been 30-42 (71.4%) for 2 TD's with 1 pick.

The Cats barely got by Yale. Did better against SFA, but SFA kept shooting itself in the foot.

Yale was better than everyone gives them credit for and the cats were asleep that game. The cats are at home so they’ll be favored

Clearly Griz found another gear after the MSU game. Do you think Yale is that good, or Cat's had an off game?

Cats will be favored at home when the lines open I’m sure. That’s fine by me. They are the ones expected to win, have everything to lose. Would rather be the hunter in this game.

Cats had an off game against Yale, but Yale had some dudes in the trenches and a good game plan. Cats made a lot of mistakes against SFA, and SFA squandered a lot of chances to take the lead early or stay in the game.

I don't know much of anything about betting lines. However I think all the prognosticators will pick the Cats simply because they're at home. The Versus app has the Cats as 10 point favorites, Massey has Cats by a touchdown, and Sagarin is about the same. I think all the pressure is on the Bobcats in this one. They're the higher seed and most everyone will pick them to win. Plus they just beat the Griz three weeks ago so they will be expected to do it again. Meanwhile the Griz have less pressure and can hopefully play loose, have fun, and kick the Cats in the teeth.

Agree Mom. The Griz also appear to be fairly healthy. Don’t know that the Cats are. If Brott is dinged up the Griz may have a field day.

Exactly. It's like everyone thinks that this is a rematch of the exact conditions 3 weeks ago only the Cats are at home instead of the Griz. When the reality is that things are different now in several areas, from team health to the way that each team has been playing recently. Will that translate to a griz victory? Can't guarantee that but It's certainly a possibility!

Even some cat fans who have posted on here have said that this Griz team is different from a few weeks ago. And I agree. They are playing like a man possessed and found another gear. The last two games have been proof. I wish it was in Missoula but revenge is a dish best served in your opponents home stadium…or something like that.

I’ll be surprised if cats aren’t favored

Opening line has Cats favored by -5.5 points

My guess is it opens at msu -1.5.

GRIZ win straight up.
No. This is fandom talking. Futures markets before this weekend had the cats at +100 to win the natty and the Griz at +700. The cats are at home and have already beaten the Griz in their own barn. The cats have only lost in their own barn like twice in five years. The Griz haven’t won in blowsman in forever.

Everything points to the line being cats -5.5 to open. Smart money will be on the Griz to cover as big a number as you can find. Two teams seemingly trending in different directions. If you can find Griz -4 or more on Monday, jump on it quickly.

Either way, these are by far and away the two best teams left in the tournament. Shitty this is the semifinals.

While I’m inclined to agree with your last sentence…it appears Illinois State is peaking at just the right time…discount them at your peril.

When was the last time a Bobby-coached Griz team was competitive in Bozeman against the Cats?
