That’s nothing new with CAA refs. Every time we draw them I cringe. 22 against NDSU, 23 against Furman, and now today. They’re the one conference that can go toe to toe with Big Sky refs for atrocity. The UAC refs last week were way better.

These certainly did. But you've used an inaccurate term ... at this level, it is not a "profession." I don't know any who make a living at it (not even close). I have a 1st cousin who spent many years as a ref/official for several sports (a retired Marine, so he didn't put up with any s**t). He lived on his officer's pension and proceeds from a small sporting goods store. I also know of a lawyer who refs on the side. So it is not a profession, it's a hobby (basically) they do because they love sports and know they're needed. Some work hard at it and are pretty good, others not so much. Not trying to make excuses, but let's be realistic about the situation.

I 100% agree with everything you just said. And those refs yesterday still sucked. Mainly it's just their inconsistency - throwing a flag on a ticky tack play and then turning around and ignoring something more egregious later on. Not calling holding all game long but then calling holding because two linemen get tangled up and fall down together. I'm sure that it's a difficult job, but if you're not up to the task then don't do it.

This same old tired argument again? Sigh. People in public positions in any arena are open to scrutiny whether or not the person doing the scrutinizing has ever been in their position. By your logic no one could ever criticize the president if they've never been president themselves. Absolutely ridiculous. And also, read my last sentence again. And please point to where she said it was “easy”.
