I was nervous all week about this game and I think a lot of Griz Nation was as well. It was hard not to be, after a gut-punch brawl loss and then seeing SDSU get Chase Mason back fans were looking at this game with trepidation. I even thought Montana was in big trouble after their shaky start. A turnover on downs, a 95 yard TD given up, a reply score but missed PAT, and then giving up another scoring drive. It seemed like the Griz had an absolute battle on their hands. But the Grizzlies, as we’ve seen before, stayed calm and stuck to their plan and good things happened, and rapidly!

Another great write up Brint. It's almost like you were a journalism major at UM.

Great shout out to the special teams yesterday. The bunnies tried three gimmick plays on special teams and each time the Griz special teams stopped it.

It was great to see Malae Fonoti come in and get 5 touches when he spelled Eli. He ran hard with a 4.2 yard average.

Fantastic write up. I watched colters interview of the sdsu coach last week, actually Saturday morning. Its a good interview, but when colter asked him about the keys to the game, Jackson went off about the special teams, and how many truck plays they had to account for. Right then, I knew we had em. 1., its not the trick plays that make Bobby's special teams spectacular. Its the hidden yards gained by the way he schemes up the teams, primarily punt, POR and kickoff, KOR. And, it told me they spent a ton of time in practice on the fakes. We destroyed them in hidden yards on these teams yesterday. Very interesting.

I admit, I was cursing Bobby after Silver’s first PAT miss, replacing a guy who’s made 109 straight. But every kick after that was solid.

Beyond that, it was the best game I’ve seen the GRIZ play since the 2024 Brawl. No team in America bests that GRIZ team.

I was less than thrilled it was Silver too! But it’s also bothered me all year that Morrison was kicking everything. His punting yesterday was very good and I think I like the idea of splitting up duties going forward.

I wasn’t too mad about it. It was his first kick of the year, and after that he was money. He also has a way higher trajectory than Morrison so there’s almost zero chance of anything getting blocked.
