Loud and Lawler

Are a great 2 cb combo.
They both minimize their coverage assignments consistently. I'm confident in these guys.
Loud is truly a difference maker.

Now, how does the defense minimize passes in the middle, short to long?
I think the defense should rotate LBs and safeties into 5 yard to 15 yard zones, depending on down and distance.

Give Ford props too. They rotated 3 corners yesterday, especially when it was tough sledding early and even after getting beat they kept Ford in there in some key situations. He made a mistake on the 2 point conversion and they kept him in there. He’s earned his time in there through Louds absence. I’m assuming Beaner is still banged up or it’s likely he would have been part of that rotation as well.

But, it is very clear that the hype around getting Loud back was warranted as we played more downhill than we have all year.

This defense really needed a break after 12 in a row. They look refreshed and rejuvenated.

I said it when it happened but Loud was literally the ONE guy we couldn’t afford to lose for an extended period. His departure changed the entire defensive game plan, I believe. Honestly, the fact we only lost one game in his absence is a testament to the team Bobby has put together.

You are spot on. With the continued emergence of Lawler (and Ford) and the return of Loud, the defensive options change dramatically. Put both corners on an island and have the ability to bring in safety into the box for run support with confidence. It changes the defensive play calling strategy significantly.

what this dude said. changed the whole vibe and execution of our defense in my opinion.

Loud is a force out there for sure. I just hope he does not draw flags for his hyper play style and fall into the unsportsmanlike mode again. I'd hate to see him line up against me, though. My wife trash talks me enough... Kidding. Just kidding.

Am I crazy or did Louds shit talking hype up the rest of the corners today? That was a career game for Ford. Lawler looked awesome. Loud looked fresh and had a bunch of pass breakups. Really seemed like the D got it's swagger back.
I mentioned this in another post…..defense definitely played with a different attitude and swagger that I haven’t seen all year. I think Loud is responsible for that.
