Two key defensive plays turned the momentum

Awesome win today Griz!

The tide started to turn in Griz favor following two key second quarter plays by the defense:
  1. Halfway through second quarter, Solomon Tuliapupu broke through for a QB sack! Making it 2nd & 20, then the jackbunnies got a false start making it 2nd & 25. SDSU had to punt, then the kicker shanked the ball and the Griz ended up with a short field. 4 plays later Gilman scores a touchdown and Griz were up 15-14 for their first lead halfway through the second quarter.
  2. Just before halftime, Kyon Loud batted down a SDSU pass forcing another SDSU punt, which Ian Finch got a hand on and blocked. With less than a minute to go in the first half, Griz were able to score again and take a 22-14 lead into the half.

From there it was all downhill!! SDSU had 4 false starts!!!!

Two stellar plays from the defense turned the tide and the Griz were able to play complementary football and seal the win.

This team could have let the frustration in the first half get the best of them, but they persevered and trusted the plan and executed from mid second quarter on. Great team win.
