I thought the scramble to his left and TD throw to Rocker streaking down the sidelines really showed what his capabilities are. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he’s SO much better when scrambling out of the pocket. Witness THAT play, and the one to Davis to keep that drive going on 3rd and long when he had to scramble again. Those are just backbreaking plays for a defense trying to get off the field.
I don't have a favorite - but Griz have a championship caliber QB...

The announcers kept lauding Mason‘s strong arm, but he barely hit over 50% of his passes, and missed several wide open receivers. I’ll take Keali'i 99 times out of 100. He barely missed a pass all day.
KAY is a great QB for Griz.
At the end of the broadcast yesterday, Bobby mentioned that Ah Yat got dinged up and that’s why Jensen was out there. Did anyone see what happened? He looked ok in the field after the game.

Bobby probably playing mind games with USD.
This was his best game as a GRIZ for sure. He did not make a bad pass all game. He may not get Big Sky honors as the Davis QB has 5 touchdown passes.

Keali'i Ah Yat is getting a lot of love on the national stage. It's great to see him succeed and I'm so happy for him.
He had a play where the offensive line didn't communicate and missed a block and he had a SDSU DL coming free on his right and he backpedaled/side-stepped into the left side of the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield and the SDSU rush got to him on the left side but instead of taking a sack, he was able to throw the ball downfield past the line of scrimmage into an empty space. A lot going on in that play but that one play, even though it was an incompletion, epitomizes KAY's growth and maturity at QB.

You could cite a lot of different things that he did yesterday and all season. For me, it’s his guts. How many times has that kid hung in the pocket to barely got the ball off before getting blasted by a defender? He has matured immensely and I think ice water runs through his veins.

That wheel to Rocker was just a thing of beauty. Stepped up, kept the eyes downfield and delivered while starting to get pulled down. He’s had a few next level throws this year like that. Truly remarkable for a sophomore.

I started to wonder why the Griz didn’t just pass every down. Yeah I know you need and want an effective running game but the bunnies had no answers for the Griz passing game. There were so many wide open receivers that it was starting to seem like Ah Yat could have had 600 yards passing. Yes I realize that having to respect the run helps to get receivers open, still Ah Yat was throwing darts. I wouldn’t trade him for any FCS QB.
