Andrew Schimdt nails it. Maybe he should be the next head Griz coach.

Pretty good thread and I like this discussion. Obviously, the fan base is frustrated with the outcome of Cat/Griz but as mentioned before this team is 11-1 and a whisker away from being #2 seed with a lot of football to be played with a chance to be NC.
I didn’t listen to the entire GFP but I did get the jest of what Andrew Schmitt was saying. I love that he is a public person with a public job and has the guts to voice his opinion about what he thinks needs to be done to improve things. However, I really think it’s bad form to call out specific players. Coaches are fine to dis, but players are a no no imho.
I think he put his finger right on the root of the problem, and I have been saying it as well for years. The strength and conditioning coach needs to be upgraded. Having a premiere strength coach allows you to bring in freshman that are motivated to be grizzlies and having them in your program for years, teaching them your offensive and defensive schemes. The next man up should come from within your roster. You really find out who wants to play by putting them through the grueling paces of a hard conditioning program. This is preferred to recruiting portal superstars and designing a scheme to fit them.

Look at the strength numbers sometime and get back to us.

I was referring to the difference compared to schmidts teams and hos era, yet he still couldn't win the big one. Hes very arrogant towards the current team.
Yeah, Schmidt probably shoulders more blame than anyone, especially Bobby, for not winning a natty when he had a chance lol

My info in Give OL some love came directly from the coaches. You are clueless about this hear’s OL. Just a bigmouth, I guess.
Jack, just because you ask a question at QB Club doesn’t mean you “talked to the coaches.” All 700 of us there “talked to the coaches” then. Doesn’t make any of us insiders.

And Taber, wherever you are, in all seriousness, I have never, ever seen a person act more embarrassing in public than you do. You are a 12 year old girl, which makes sense given how many posts you put on here. Go evaluate your life a little. You have a family who might be missing your attention.

Alright boys that was fun! Won’t be back on here for a while so to all you who actually want to help make the Griz better please follow along on my various platforms for what we can do together. If you want to watch Jack and Taber stroke each other off on here daily that’s fine too. Different “strokes” I guess. But we have real work to do and not online fantasy land participation awards to hand out.

To be fair, Schmidt burnt the house down on the Griz Fan Pod.

His interview with Skyline, he had a few critical things to say about the Montana strength & conditioning program and the current balance of the rivalry. But most of the 50-minute conversation was about this question: what are the reasons Montana CAN win the national championship? And what are the factors they need to mitigate to not hold them back?

Our pod this week was intentionally not nearly as emotional on Schmidt's part he was earlier in the week.
Hes an emotional basketball case. Hes been a neggie for a long time. He sloughed it off with the whole dunk dank thing... he was neggie Nancy then the gruz went to the natty.

Takes all the fun out of it for me. Griz are rolling, keep winning games, and some of the gfp guys that are neggies then you put schmidt on there and holy shit who wants to listen to that. My gawd. Seriously. Fawking boring listening to his nerdy limp wristed ass swoon into his horrible negativity. But according to him, man is sure being an awesome fan!! The best if the best kind of fans are those negativity pansy asses that let emotions overcome their brain.

Colter puts out great content, but schmidts is very boring. The few times ive listened to schmidt its because I appreciate colters stuff, and I've got highway windshield time.

😂 Oh my gawd you're stupid. You're talking out of your ass. Holy shit. Haha.

I would like to hear @schmidtacular take on the discussion on nepotism with college coaches in the Robbie Hauck thread. Schmidt’s dad was a coach in FBS when he was a child. He would probably have some interesting experiences to share growing up with a father coaching college football.

He complains about alot more than that. Do you think his complaints about those two things now will do any good now? How could they?
Will his complaints do us any good this Saturday or this season? No. Will changing those things help us in the long run? I believe so.
I think it’s possible to be a good fan AND point out some areas of concern.

I don't know any of you pillow fighting queens but the guy saying your OL is not good is 100% right. Neither are really championship caliber and you guys know it. When you get trucked like the Bobcats did you in your own barn the evidence is there for everyone to see.

Andrew, and criticizing on a podcast doesn’t make you an expert on anything. You don’t even know what supporting a program is.

I rarely go to QB Club. I have a bunch of tapes piled up in my inbox.

I talk to coaches around town or at the weekly gathering at a particular bar when I am around. Or after games. Or in texts. And, in this case, I also have a text from a certain coach, which I used as the basis of the substantive part of my OL post. I showed it to Brint. He can verify.

Just because you have little direct access to Bobby and coaches, doesn't mean that some of the rest of us don't. My wife's and my family know the Hauck's very well. My wife's dad was a good friend of Bobby's dad and they coached in MT in the same era. My wife's family, or some of them, have been huge donors to UM, as well as to football. I think this relative has been one of the biggest annual donors to football since Bobby has returned, if not the largest. He and Bobby are best friends. Brint also knows what Bobby said to this person after the game. You don't. At this point, I assume that coaches and athletic department people are avoiding you.

You have become one of those guys who thinks that just because you don't have good access, no one else does either. Pretty funny. Make sure someone puts your BS over here from time to time, so some of us can kick your ass on here. I love to respond to bad fans.

The UM OL played just as well as the Cat OL in the big game. Look at the tape. Look at the stats. You are clueless about football and Griz football. Everyone knows it.

This 100% 👍

I would like to state for the record that I am good friends with both Taber and Schmidt and I makes me uneasy that they are fighting on a message board. I also enjoy every time I see and chat with Jack. He's always been very nice and encouraging to me.

I think all three men have a deep love for the Griz and the University of Montana.

I have Andrew on the show because he's really entertaining and sharp. And I like spending an hour a week hanging with my friend. I don't think a fun podcast produced by pals who are also proud alums so we can make a few bucks is something that's worth sparking this big of a disagreement.

On that note, I thought Jordan Tripp was effusively positive and interesting in our conversation today:
