With 1 week to rest up the Montana Grizzlies are back at it in the 2nd round of the playoffs and coming to town is the SDSU Jackrabbits. This marks the third year in a row that these two programs have met in the post season with SDSU beating Montana in both 2024 and 2023. After their 1st round win against UNH with the return of their dynamic QB, Chase Mason, the betting odds for SDSU to win it all jumped dramatically put them at even odds with Montana. Safe to say, Saturday is going to be a battle.

That report this time doesn't give me a warm fuzzy...I believe to win this game; Eli will have to rush for a ton of yards! The TE's have to be involved in the passing game! I will be in my regular seat as normal even with the crappy weather. I think Griz win this by 11.
exactly...only I think we win by 14.....28-14 has a nice ring to it...

Great summary as usual, Brint.
Honestly, I feel very comfortable in the knowledge that this Griz team is definitely good enough to win. What does concern me is SDSU’s ability to come back from deficits this season. If we play “Bobby Ball,” that could be very dangerous. Hoping that the Griz get rolling early and mash the gas pedal, because it looks like this team has the ability to do to Montana what the Griz did to them in 2009(?).

No turn-overs. STOP the running game. Force them to throw then bring the house and drive him into the turf... okay don't drive him into the turf, but make him rush his passes. Mason might be "recovered" but he's not healed. Turf toe hurts bad even after it "heals." He won't be able to bear the weight on the ball of his foot well, and that should limit his rushing ability. If the defense stops the run, forces him to throw and shake him up, the defense should be able to get at least 1-2 INT's and that will make all the difference in the game.

I love the "Bye Week Bobby." Of course I don't know the numbers, just my memory says he doesn't do as well as I expected after bye weeks.
In Bobby 2.0 after regular season byes, he is 3-3
2018 Loss vs. UC Davis
2019 Loss @ Sac State
2021 Win vs. Cal Poly
2022 Loss vs. Idaho
2023 Win vs. UNC
2024 Win @ UNC

In the playoffs, he's 3-0
2019 Win vs. SELA
2021 Win vs. EWU
2023 Win vs. Delaware

I expect SDSU will use their running game a lot, even more so with bad weather. Shown in the Griz / Cat game that we are not the best at stopping the run. The weather conditions for passing is going to be a problem for the griz offense. I hope the Griz can do it but if they make mistakes it will be the end of the season.

What about the forecast makes you think weather will be an issue for the passing game?
