A huge Brawl of the Wild game sets up the winner with the #2 seed and an outright Big Sky championship, while the loser still gets a seed, but is disappointed.

Defending champion Dakota school cruises to an undefeated record, while their rival struggles all season, having to play in the first round.

The #2 Montana team plays an east coast team that won on a huge comeback in the first round, while the other plays the lower Dakota school that's finally hitting its stride at home after cruising over an overmatched team at home.

Sounds like I'm describing this year, but this is exactly what happened in 2023, with the schools switched.

Then, #2 Montana plays Delaware who came back after being down 28-7 against Lafayette. This time #2 MSU plays Yale who overcame a 42-14 deficit.

Then, defending champ SDSU cruised, while struggling NDSU got sent to Bozeman in the 2nd round after crushing Drake. Now, NDSU is cruising, while struggling SDSU gets sent to Missoula in the 2nd round after crushing UNH.

Sure hope for our sake the script doesn't go the same and we start to diverge, but thought it was really crazy how similar things have turned out.

It’s funny how jaded and leery we’ve all become. Man, the 2010s and pandemic really did a number on the fanbase, myself included. More and more of the fanbase is not confident at all against decent teams. I watch SDSU and I see the neighbors all over again. Or Eastern passing for 410 again. I’ll bet Mason doesn’t fumble the spike…

The way I view it, if this team is good enough to make it to the semis (they are), they'd have to face the decent to good teams at some point. It doesn't really matter much if it's in the semis or the 2nd round...

I have all the confidence in the world that this team can beat SDSU. Again, there's not much difference between the top four teams in the FCS each year other than NDSU is, as always, just a step ahead from the other three.

I agree. And out of the last 3 years. I’d pick this SDSU team to play in WaGriz over the last two years.

If we can’t beat sdsu at home we ain’t beating the cats in Bozeman. So time start balling out.

Dang straight. Rather this team wrap their head around bringing their best effort every single play. No letting off the gas and head into Bozo ready for battle. Cats are going to have some easy games.

Griz have to worry about the Griz and focus on South Dakota State. Let the scats worry about Yale.

I find it somewhat hilarious….mason is a good quarterback but so is Ah Yat. Everyone is so focused on our defense matching up against sdsu’s offense but no one is looking at their defense matching up against our offense. Our defense held the kittens offense to 24 points and our offense scored 28 against the msu defense. Not to mention Montana is going come out rested and ready. I’m guessing Tolbert will be healthy and Loud could very well return. Easy every one. We’re gonna be ok!.

I'd be worried about surviving SDSU if I were you. But let's keep talking about Bozo and the Cats.

I think this sdsu game will be very good. Mason is a stud.

I still think this Griz team wins. We’ve been great all year. And we’re going to be coming into this game
Pissed off. This team has been planning for the playoffs for 6 weeks now.
And we actually got a sort of bye week, after 12 straight weeks of playing. You don't think the players needed that? The Griz will be ready.

What’s a matter. You nervous? Griz won’t lose to SDSU. They aren’t like the Cats. They win against the MVFC at home. They just do.

In case you didn't know, it's the playoffs. Doesn't really matter what happened in week 1 or 2 does it? Afterall, UND had you beat.
Somebody is butt hurt. Girl left you at the altar? Maybe it was your boyfriend. Don’t know, but it’s ok little buddy. Lots of season left.
