Chasing NDSU to be the Best in the FCS

When you experience the wind blowing 50 mph every second of every day and there's not a single tree to stop it, you begin to understand the hairy cow mentality. When you drive on a highway for 150+ miles and don't have to turn the steering wheel once, you begin to understand the hairy cow mentality. When your cousin may be your wife or your sister or niece, you begin to understand the hairy cow mentality. When all your smartest and most ambitious people move to Minnesota for work, you begin to understand the hairy cow mentality.
If you don’t mind the cold or lack of mountains which North Dakotans probably don’t there is no better metro than the cities.

Plus the cities has trees and water and excellent schools. Excellent schools is one of the reasons NDSU and a lot of southern schools (i.e. Ole' Miss) recruit the twin cities so hard, they want to have students from Minnesota come to their school to improve their academic standings.

All that and the most Fortune 500 companies per capita, pro sports teams for every sport, the top ranked airport in the USA, most biking trails of any major city in the USA, all while having average or below average cost of living. Income tax is high so not ideal for high income earners but you get a lot of social benefits

ngl, taxes take a bite but name me a place that has the ability to go to a Nate Bargatze comedy show on Monday, a Taylor Swift concert on Tuesday, a Trampled by Turtles concert on Wednesday, high level college basketball game on Thursday, NBA game on Friday, NHL game on Saturday, NFL game on Sunday and then do it all again the next week. Plus the dining is top level. For young adults, you can catch some of the rising stars at many of the same clubs Prince, The Replacements, Soul Asylum, Semisonic, and Lizzo have played as they were rising. The Twin Cities has a craft beer scene but it took forever to get it started and it's not even close to Missoula when you compare it per capita.

The statement that's often said by recruiters about the Twin Cities and it is so true. I moved out here planning to stay 5 years and after 20+ years, haven't left. "It's hard to recruit people to come to the Twin Cities it's even harder to get them to leave."

Yeah, because Missoula and Spokane are also known as the “Twin Cities”
I wasn't referencing them geographically. I was referencing their feel and opportunities. Missoula = St. Paul and Spokane = Minneapolis.

Would you rather I use Missoula and Frenchtown or Missoula and East Missoula?

It is clear NDSU is a top rival of ours and vice versa because we are by far and away the best 2 programs all time in the FCS. NDSU has had the best run over the past 15 years and won the most championships but the Griz have had the most sustained success with playoff appearances over 40 years. There is no other program besides these 2 that can claim to be the top of the FCS over a long period of time not just the current season. As such the Griz will always be considered a rival to the Bison and Bison a rival to the Griz.
NDSU has two rivals those are SDSU and UND that's it, at one time U. of Northern Iowa was as rival but in recent years they have fallen of so bad..

Montana and MSU both are just two other teams in the fcs, no different than Weber State, Villanova or Abilene Christian,

You nay want them to be rivals but they are not, sorry to break it to you.

Tell that to Matt Entz and the 2023 hairy cows

It’s a poor analogy any way you look at it.

Entz is long gone and NDSU is doing just as good or even better since he left, so who care what he thinks.

MSU is more of a rival to NDSU than Montana is just based on their two national championship title games that will exceed anything Montana can boast plus the vigen ties to both schools..

Why else do you think do you think it's MSU-NDSU in the 2027 vegas kickoff classic and not the grizzlies?

When I mention MSU to the hairy cow fans, they start laughing. When I mention the Griz, all they can talk about is 2023 semifinal loss to the Griz.

When I was over in Woodbury, I tried to avoid going to Minneapolis unless it was on the weekend simply to avoid traffic going through both cities as well as Saint Paul or Bloomington/Eagan usually having whatever I need with less traffic and stress than going into Minneapolis.
