I don’t disagree with your statement about Seth Bodner’s need to be held accountable. How long should/will it take to right the ship? Is Seth Bodner the right person to do it? One would think seven years to correct the mistakes of the past forty or fifty years should be solved by now? Look at what Bodner has to deal with. A hostile teachers union that rewards tenure over performance, a BOR that cannot hit its ass with both hands. They, the BOR, has permitted our sister institution to duplicate programs, i.e. the School of Business for one, thay even compete against our Business School.
I don’t begin to have the answers. Unfortunately my view, and yours is from 30,000’ and the problems of enrollment, tenured professors whose areas of expertise don’t match up with today’s requirements. A hostile BOR and a State legislature that denies funding for new programs.
