People talk about NDSU and for that matter, UM moving up like it’s totally in their/ our control. Just make the decision and go. Nobody says what FBS conference is begging each to join. Not quite that simple. You can put on your tuxedo and admire yourself in the mirror all you want but you have to have a date to go to the prom. I’d like to hear who is asking? PAC? Mountain West? Other? Crickets is probably the best answer to this question…at least for now. I will acknowledge that, in the world of college athletics, Everything could change tomorrow and so we better be prepared. It will be unforgivable if we don’t.

If NDSU leaves and Montana remains Im likely to throw up. There will be nothing freaking left in this subdivision. It’s already a joke, but that would make it even worse. I can’t wrap my mind around our AD standing idly by and letting our peers leave one by one while we continue spinning our wheels. We need to get out of FCS already. The time was ten freaking years ago if not 20

NDSU is in a class of its own. As for the rest of the FCS world, with all the turmoil in College Football, let the dog stop shaking before us fleas start jumping. The football world is a change'n. The BSC, and others, may be collateral damage before its all done.

If NDSU leaves and Vigen takes the OSU job, maybe a couple other coaching changes or move ups you guys might have a 50/50 chance of getting back to the NC.

So 50% better chance than you getting laid (by a person) but 50% less of a chance than you being first in line at the local buffet everyday for the next week?

I would agree with you if full-time enrollment wasn't a problem for the University of Montana, but it is still declining. The administration prefers to report its overall headcount, which has seen improvement, but undergraduate, 4-year degree seeking students, are still declining, at 6,237 this fall. In 2010, those degree seeing undergrads numbered 10,891.
Enrollment matters. In 2008 when UM was planning for Majestic Plaza, the forecast for enromment was that growth in graduate and undergraduate FTEs would drive total enrollment to 16,000 by 2015.

Student athletic fees matter. Imagine how much easier it is to fund facilities when FTEs are going up. Much easier for MSU than UM right now.

They slapped lipstick on a pig so bad on those recent enrollment numbers. Credit due to the success of their grad programs. HOWEVER undergrad, and specifically freshman enrollment, was horrible to alarmingly horrible this fall.
 
It might get worse if UM doesn't do something to balance out the politics on campus. Its unbearable if you have an alternative viewpoint. There are a ton of students that hate that aspect and if I could do it over I would really think about going somewhere else. High school kids have shifted
