Another KAY Factoid

For someone who a lot of the Montana fanbase was doubting big time before the season, KAY has had one of the all-time best seasons in Griz history.

His completion rate in the regular season was 68.69%, which is the highest in Griz history, even higher than Craig Ochs' best season, 2004, the current record.

If KAY has a great playoff performance, his sophomore season will be as good or better than any his father ever had.
 
Many on here doubted him significantly prior to the season, for reasons I cant fathom besides a clear lack of understanding how players develop in programs from freshman year on. KAY is an absolute baller and he will be in the conversation of UMs mt Rushmore by the time its all said and done assuming he chooses to complete his college career here 💪💪🙌❤️❤️

I definitely was one of the doubters coming into the season, but, wow, Ah Yat has shown me how wrong I was. It has been great fun to watch him mature. And he will be here two more years!!!

Going back and watching a lot of Saturday’s game, I think it’s safe to say his decision making and athleticism kept the Griz in the game against a very good defense. Brooks Davis upped his game big time as well. Gillman and Wortham were at their normal, high level performance. Still wasn’t quite enough. 2 plays were the difference. Like a true NFL playoff game…no margin for error.

Well, given that Bobby had NEVER developed a QB in his second stint here there was good reason to doubt KAY going into this year. Sure he showed flashes last year, but hey, so did Kris Brown and we all know how that turned out.

You did NOT just compare KAYs body of work prior to this season to whatever Kris Brown did... 😵😭

Thank you articulating that good egriz negativity. But you're wrong, of course. I'd argue Dalton Sneed was developed under bobby. He had minimal stats prior to montana, aside from an ok year or two at juco. His junior year was decent here, but his senior year was exceptional. Cam Humphrey spent a year backing up Sneed and all covid year 2020 in the program before a pretty effective and solid 2021 season.

It was not hard to analyze KAYs trajectory. Last season he was very solid, aside from injury. Was it stellar? Maybe not, but he was a FRESHMAN. I saw the body of work he put in all off season, saw him stay healthy all fall and put the work in, I was optimistic. Many here and apparently you included chose to vocally take a different route.

Can't say enough good things about the massive leap KAY took this year. I was a doubter but he immediately showed how dumb the average fan is. The future is very bright. We have very young skill players and an All American QB to build around. I think the transfer portal is going to be very fruitful for us this offseason as guys sign up to play with a QB like ours.

If we can somehow find a way to keep all our core skill guys that have eligibility left, we will be tough. Key guys to replace:

Schaeffer
Wortham
Build a dominant o line

Also, Deck has had a great season, would love a possession guy as consistent and competitive as that dude. He'll be missed.

I did, and I was wrong. I've fully admitted that. We all saw the body of work last season. And that was what 90% of Griz fans had to go on. We took a different route LAST year...big difference.
