Done watching Griz games

And statistically not true. Sample size in FCS is smaller than FBS with conference championships. But people for some reason still say this even though I believe the winner of the 1st game wins the 2nd game like 60% of the time. I’d imagine that number is higher when the winner of the 1st game won on the road before getting to host that same team at home the 2nd game.

Not to say you CAN’T win if we meet next month. I personally don’t think you will but I know if the tables were turned I’d be dying to get another crack at the griz in Missoula even if they just beat us in Bozeman
Ask how this has worked out for the Buffalo Bills the last half decade.

And yes, the GRIZ would be underdogs in Bozeman. But if they play a clean game, they'll likely win. And I can't imagine any bobcat fan honestly wants anything to do with a rematch.

Maybe they could win. Like I said not impossible. I think it's funny that so many of you want a rematch to a team you lost to at home, and a team you haven't beat in Bozeman forever; but for some reason it's crazy for us Cat fans to want that same rematch. :ROFLMAO: Like why should we not want a game in which we not only have won in Bozeman like the last five times but in those games a team we've beaten badly. Why should griz fans have confidence in that matchup but for the Cat fans wanting it is crazy?!

I'm personally not sure if you have the hogs to get there, but your homefield advantage is great so I can see it. And I would absolutely LOVE another Cat griz in Bozeman to get into the championship! And I think nearly all of our fanbase feels the same way. You beat us there you deserve it and I'll tip my hat to you. But I won't sit here thinking UM will be this entirely different team firing on all cylinders playing mistake free ball; while the cats will be resigned to playing the exact same as they did Saturday which I didn't feel was very good. If we played that EXACT game against the Bison as we did you guys Saturday, I think they beat us by 3 scores.

You guys will HAVE to be playing better if we meet again so I won't dispute that. But the Cats will make lots of adjustments as well and the odds are just as good that we'll also play a clean game and likely win.;)

I fucking hate writing this, but I agree with this take. The prevailing narrative on here (and in the media) is that the cats played a phenomenal game and received all of the breaks. Having watched both teams' games all season, I can't disagree more. The cats played undisciplined on defense compared to the last five games. Bad leverage, going for kill shots instead of wrapping up, super soft cushions on the outside, linebackers out of position almost all game long. Lamson also missed at least two open reads for touchdowns. They allowed some sacks due to crowd noise that wouldn't exist in blowsman. I cannot see the cats making those bad mistakes twice against the Griz. Sixx is too good of a coach. On the other hand, I watched the Griz play a phenomenal game defensively; perhaps their best effort all season. Ah Yat was MONEY. Gilman was doing his thing. It still wasn't enough. Cats fans should feel confident in a rematch, especially at home. Make no mistake - we will be at least 10 point dogs in that game. Vegas nailed the opening line for the last game (-2.5 MSU and 59.5 O/U) and many (myself included) were very surprised. I won't be surprised this time around.

Ok, hear me out. This isn't a "Fuq the Griz! Im done!" thread. This is a controlling my anxiety and anger thread.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the game today. We drove to Atlanta for my daughter's B day, taking her and a friend to the Georgia Aquarium. During the three hour drive home, I begin to feel a confirming belief on something Sammy Akem said on the GFP. He said he hates being a fan of a team. At first i was like "WHAT!?" I thought thats crazy talk. His thought was he hates the anxieties, anguish, and heartaches you feel from being a fan of a team when the game doesn't go our way. At first i didn't agree. My thought was thats just part of what makes being a fan a beautiful unique thing, along with all the joy i mean. We don't feel this way over anything else in our lives, or most of us anyway. Can't speak for everyone obviously but i think its safe to say if you're on here reading this, you're probably as bad as i am.

So his words planted a seed though and as the last couple days have gone by, i began to see the logic in his thought. I began to realize that watching Griz games does take a toll. The heart races, the anxieties rise, and there's definitely moments of frustration and anger. I began to realize that i too hate feeling this way. Yes, its a relief when we win and it all feels worth it but the losses, especially ones like this, they suck and I hate it.

So midway driving home, the epiphany hits me. I don't go through all that if i don't watch the game. What if i wait till the games over and if we win, I'm more then happy to sit through whatever mistakes we make cus i know it'll be worth it. If we lose? I don't wanna watch that. I wont enjoy those 3+ hours and I cant get em back. There is a hundred billion more things I'd rather do then watch the Griz lose, and not just to the scats.

Now im sure several of you are like "fuq this" and theres no saying I'm even gonna be able to really do this. As i said, not watching today was not my choice. But it did certainly feel like someone was giving me an opportunity to see it from a different light...and I'm 1000% certain it felt better then the former. I also know this. I think its made accepting the loss and moving on to the next game easier also. Ready for the playoffs to start and cant wait to watch em all on the replay😁. Roll Griz and see you y'all in Nashville...hopefully. That one i will be watching live in person🐻🥰.
I hear you. I started doing this in 2018 when Bobby came back. I HATE watching the Griz lose . So I started recording the game back then. I get an alert on my phone for the final score. If the Griz win, I watch the game. If they lose I delete the game. Plus I can fast forward and miss the dumb commercials and having to listen to the stupid announcers for the most part. Tripp annoys me. I think he should be a little more biased but respect that he's not.

It doesn't make you or me any less of a fan. In fact, I am THAT fan. I am irrational, violent, verbally abusive, my heart races, my blood pressure goes through the roof, I get furious. I scream, cuss, break furniture and have punched holes in the wall. I have screamed at my family, traumatized my dogs and lost friends over the Griz/Cat game. It's not healthy for me.

Oddly, no other game bothers me like this one does.

Oddly, other games and losses don't bother me even close to as much as that game. I don't like them, but I'll watch them and I don't have the same physiological or psychological impact issues.

I can't handle watching the Griz lose to the Puds. There is a reason.

I was born and spent the first six years of my life in Missoula. My granddad would take me to Griz games in the early 70's when I was a kid. I became a fan early on. Then we moved to Billings where just about everyone was an MSU fan. I got into a lot of fist fights, starting in fourth grade because of the Griz/Cats. It escalated in 1984... I went to West High in Billings and actually got suspended for a week after attacking another kid in my algebra class on the Monday after the Griz lost to the Puds (it was a different time, we didn't go to jail or get arrested for stuff like that) because he was running his mouth so bad I couldn't tolerate it any longer. This is why I have such a hard time with Puds fans and my attitude toward that game.

I have only watched two Griz/Cat Games since 2018. I'm at peace with that.

IF the Griz make it to Nashville, HUGE IF, I will be there live as well. I am driving from Huntington. A whopping five whole hours. I look forward to tailgating with other Griz fans, and you know the weird thing is, if the Griz do make it, and if they do manage to win the game, great. If they don't, that's okay too, because I get to have fun in Nashville, and maybe even meet some of you IRL after posting in here for two decades.

Sounds like some counseling might be in order, Sin. :)

Truely, might be down after 56 years. Not sure. Most of my friends now sell their cat Griz tickets to cat fans to pay for the other tickets. Anyone who was at the game today saw why the Griz set a season record for season tickets - cats fans were loud from the first drive.

With the BSC unbalanced season, and 4BSC games in 2027 at home 5 on the road, combined Haslam’s CFO scheduling 8 home games this year, why would you pay for season tickets going forward? Burn the golden goose and people are willing to play the dice. This year was a bad swing and miss - but who knows. The team is full of talent and has a good coaching staff. End of era or legendary run? Everything is on the line this year.
Cat fans are always loud at Griz/Cat in Missoula. Best part of attending the game is there is crowd pops on EVERY play!

I have less anxiety/frustration watching the game in person - probably because of the shared crowd experience and the Cat fans I chatted with on the way out of the stadium were kind folks. I had a great time even though the Griz lost.

I have more trouble with the frustration when I'm at home watching the game - typically there aren't other friends over to commiserate with - and even then, man I have more shit to worry about than being angry at some damn game that I have no control over.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:Being a Griz fan is hard. I look back at my life, my vocations and avocations, and recognize that I have to be a Type A personality, at least partly so. It ain't killed me, yet! And, I haven't actually busted my TVs, despite the brovado.
I saw a movie last night, from 2006(I know, I'm behind on my movie watching), called "Crank."
Here's the storyline:
'Chev Chelios (Jason Statham), a hit man wanting to go straight, lets his latest target slip away, then he awakes the next morning to a phone call that informs him he has been poisoned and has only an hour to live unless he keeps adrenaline coursing through his body while he searches for an antidote.'

I thought, 'He's got to be a Griz fan!!!'
