Here we are ranked #3, losing the brawl and possibly out of the first round of the playoffs. We just can't be the best with upgrades.
seems a bit too old and undersized to play nose guard...
IF they were FBS quality they'd be on an FBS team. I would argue the FCS-FCS transfers we brought in performed materially BETTER than the FBS-FCS dropdowns we brought in. And I'd win that argument.

Plus the FCS, especially Big Sky transfers are advanced on who Montana os and what it's all about. Also, not as much wasted time as competing against the big power 4 schools.
Yep. Bring in "ready" guys and not guys who've been riding the pine for 3+ years...the exceptions may be Harper from BYU and Lawler from Utah.

With our resources we really should try and get the best from around the Big Sky to come play for us each year, make it a core recruiting strategy for this new Era of NIL.
Harper was a starter at BYU as a freshman and then injured so moved down the depth chart. Lawler played a little, but DBs at UT are generally very deep. I wouldn't mind getting a pipeline from both of those schools in regards to linemen and DBs. The Polynesian connection would be killer on the lines.

Agreed on all those people, but oldfart's complaint was that we shouldn't be going after FCS transfers becuase "upgrades" weren't good enough. We needed THE BEST at each position.

Random thought if Vigen does leave and takes some players what are the chances we could potentially grab some of the guys on their roster? I'd imagine it probably would be a bit more difficult since they are our arch rival.

I think the only guys we would be able to get would be guys like Kade Cutler that would've left, either way.
