Congrats to the Cats, But ...

One less BS holding call and the Griz are in the lead for the majority of the 4th quarter. The teams were equal. Montana gets the offense, msu gets the defense
I know, crazy, right? I mean, just imagine if MSU had a TD called back on a penalty in that game? Probably would have collapsed and led to a loss. And can you believe how lucky MSU was that they recovered their fumble?! That would have never happened for UM, all the breaks went MSU's way for sure.

I’m gonna be honest, I think I’d rather take my chances with NDSU than the cats. Who actually thinks the Griz would beat the cats in Bozeman in the semis? I don’t. We haven’t won there in a decade, we’ve gotten destroyed the last 3 times we played there, and unlike the Griz did yesterday, the cats would be able to feed off their crowd and the energy in the stadium and bury us early. It wouldn’t go well. I’ll take my chances with NDSU instead.
With Vigen actively interviewing his next head coaching job, are the players going to be jacked to play for him or wondering what's next?

I mean I would think they'd like to go out with a bang. He's interviewed for jobs each of the last 3 seasons so it's not an unknown to the players that he's looking around.

I’d prefer a rematch in Bozeman versus coming to Fargo, tough to beat a team twice. With that said Brawl 2.0 is a long ways down the road, getting to the semi’s is no guarantee for either team.

I don't think anyone is saying the GRIZ were unlucky (although to be fair, Dowler got beat bad on Wortham's slant, to the point that he only got the pick off the deflection because he was trailing the play so badly, so that could be described as luck). We're just saying the teams are 100% equal, and that game -- and the next one -- could go either way.

Were we watching the same game? Dowler was playing safety over the top… Cole Taylor was on Wortham.

I think we can all admit the gris played their most complete game of the season. Hardly any mistakes in the whole game. Cats just made plays when they needed to which ultimately led to a victory.

If we play in Bozeman (we both have hard games) it should be another good game but I honestly think the gris would have a very hard time playing that well in Bozeman.

I think the Griz played well enough to win. One or two plays were the difference. I think Griz played best game vs Sac St on the road. A couple garbage TDs late. If Griz get Loud back for playoffs they will be a much better defensive team. He’s an exceptional player.

Dowler wasn’t even the coverage guy on that slant.

I agree the griz played extremely well, that’s way I was saying it was their most complete game, basically zero errors. I don’t think this griz’s defensive issue is the in secondary, we ran at will as demonstrated on the final drive. But yes that would definitely clean up the secondary as a group.

To be completely honest in we play again in Bozeman I’d expect the cats to win by 2-3 scores. Not a knock on the griz at all but it’s very difficult to win in Bozeman especially a game of that magnitude. Feel free to come laugh in my face if I’m wrong but this is the most complete MSU team possibly ever and I’d expect that result.

After the game we watched on Saturday, I don't expect the Cats to win by 2-3 scores. No way. Could it happen? Sure, just like Montana could have won by 2-3 scores in Missoula on Saturday. But like others have said, these two teams are absolutely evenly matched. And if South Dakota State was able to go into Bozeman and pull out a win, Montana absolutely can too.

Did I suggest Dowler was covering Wortham?

It was a slant; obviously the corner was in coverage. Wortham wins the route versus the corner, and Dowler takes an awful angle (let's be honest: even the most ardent cat fan would agree that if Michael catches that ball in stride, all dowler could do would be to turn and wave to his backside as MW streaks down the seam, and hope that someone on the backside has an angle to run him down). That is precisely why it was such a lucky break for the bubs, because it was really poor defense, and only because it was so bad did the ball end up in dowler's hands.

Yes you said dowler was beat bad and trailing the play. Wrong! You said it was a slant and obviously the corner was in coverage. Wrong again. I think you should stick to tennis dude. Or just keep telling your lame jokes

Cole Taylor was on Wortham and if he catches the ball he is immediately tackled. He was going to the ground as was catching the ball. Yes the tip was lucky no disagreeing with that, but so was the fact that Wortham’s fumble went into open space.

And the Cat fumble on sidelines, where 4 Griz were on the runner, which went yards away right to a Cat.

There is much luck, fortune and misfortune in games. Those things are in the greater category of how the ball bounces. Multiple single plays, whether "luck", good plays by one team, mistakes by one team, could have changed the outcome of the game. In addition, the team that "wins" more close plays and makes more plays gets a leg up and often wins the game. I would give the latter game ball to the Cats, as I did in my thread/report right after the game.

I can't say anything. I didn't watch the game. I probably would have been punching holes in the wall. This is the one game that I just can't watch until it's over. I recorded it, saw the score and deleted it. I hate that game. I have an unnatural, irrational, violent hatred toward that teams fans. I used to try to be complimentary and diplomatic, but it was never reciprocated. As a result I have ended more than one friendship because of this game. On a positive note, I won far more money betting on the Puds winning than I did the Griz.
