Embarrassment to the Rivalry

I understand that emotions run high before, during and after this game. Fans on both sides are guilty of over-the-top behavior. But I want to describe the actions of three Bobcat players after the game.

As time ran out and the rest of their team was running toward the Great Divide Trophy, three Bobcat players ran to the Northeast side of the stadium and started taunting the fans. This went on for at least two minutes. At which point, they started heading back to join their teammates, but then couldn't help themselves and came back again. They continued jeering and then #0 started simulating that he was jerking off. At this point, fans in the stadium unfortunately started throwing water bottles toward the players and one of the Griz assistant coaches shoved one of the Cat players trying to get them to head back with their team. Finally, a Bobcat assistant coach came over and herded the players away.

This kind of behavior not only reflects poorly on the Bobcat football team and Montana State University, but the entire Rivalry. Unsportsmanlike conduct on full display. I can only hope that in the past and next time the Griz win in Bobcat Stadium our players have more class than that.

Wait a minute….you’re telling me that a couple college aged kids, pumped to the gills with adrenaline after playing a combat sport for 3 hours, talked a bunch of shit threw around a few obscene gestures? Boy that’s sure surprising.
I mean defending young adults making sexual gestures in front of and towards little kids in the stands is not a flex, just FYI

If anyone wants to see a good video of this incident fast forward the ESPN+ replay to the 2:36:00 mark and you can see it in the background during Justin Lamson's post-game interview. Keep the video running for around 15 more seconds and you can see the camera then cut to a guy in Griz gear in the stands demonstrating more classy behavior by spraying a smoke machine directly into the faces of Bobcat fans.

The Cats were mouthy and sorta jerks today. Many situations. For most of the game. The Griz weren’t. I didn’t like the Cats doing that. Reading more of went on now doesn’t excite me.

I really didn’t like the multiple Cats being mouthy every time a Griz went out of bounds in Cats sideline. Griz kept their cool. It wasn’t that way on Griz sideline.

Another reason for Griz to kick Cats’ ass next time.

I usually don’t like the fans. First time I thought the Cats’ players were jerks too.
