Tipped Pass Pick Six the difference

My take…we couldn’t keep the D-line off of Ah Yat long enough to let longer pass plays develop. That’s why after the 4 sacks in the 1st quarter EVERY pass was a 5-yard out.

This game in no way falls on the defense. Sure they couldn’t get a stop AT THE END, but they did fine all day, relatively to literally anyone else the ‘scats have played.

I never said those words...yes - the pick six was awful.

They needed a stop at the end and did not get off the field. It wasn't the only stop they needed - and they had their chances throughout the game - numerous 3rd and medium and longs...

Championship team defenses get off the field when they need to...it is the definition of complimentary football.

Right now - today - that was NOT a championship unit.
Perhaps next time - lots of football to play.

Their d-line was mostly as advertised. Their o-line was also excellent - especially when it mattered at the end of the game. Davis is a stud.

They have championship caliber lines...not yet sure the Griz do...we'll see.

Take no offense HHB because I’ve heard the expression used like this a lot. But if someone has disdain for someone else, isn’t that the opposite of having a hard-on for them?

One blocked FG? ST wasn't the difference. Cats making more plays than Griz was the difference. An easy pick 6. A bad holding call bringing back a TD. Their QB throwing and running well. Had nothing to do with ST's. The coach doesn't do the kicking. The kick would have been good. The defender made a huge leap and play.

I wasn't overly impressed with their DL. Their 2 pre-season all-conference guys had 2 tackles a piece and 1 sack between them. No. 41 is overrated. The Cat OL gave up 4 sacks, I believe. UM OL gave up 2 sacks.

Gillman is a much better back than Davis, but Davis is good.

Actually no. It was thrown too far in front of him. Unfortunately for our guys the receiver deflected it up and into the belly of Dowler. He had a nice little return and a monumental momentum swing
 
Tough game. Held the Cats O to 24 despite Lamson going 18-20 and his feet doing a lot of damage. Would love for the Griz to be the TE involved more. As mt said, Ah Yat had a wide open TE rather than try to thread that to Wortham.

scats were playing cover 2 (2 deep safeties) and their corners were 7-10 yards off the Griz outside wide receivers. We could have gone deep with a likely interception but why go deep when they are giving you 5-7 yards every throw.

They were playing with two high safeties the entire game. Not that they shouldn't have tried more deep shots but their cover 2 zone is tough to throw the deep vertical route.

The defender that was run off Montana for character problems. Fits in well there.
