I hope both Skyla and Michael Ray are honored on the jumbo tron at some point during Saturday's Brawl--they have both earned a moment of silence : ( !!!
I'm sure there will be a moment of silence tonight at the LGriz game. So very sad. She was one of the very best Lady Griz during their time when they dominated the Big Sky.

Absolutely one of the most competitive people I have ever met in my life.
When the Lady Griz beat Montana State in Missoula a few years back, Skyla and a few other Lady Griz sat with us at the Iron Horse while we wrote our stories and edited our photos. It was among the most fun memories I have in my life and my career. She made us laugh so hard my stomach hurt.
She was the freshman girls basketball coach at Big Sky when I was a freshman. She used to play open gyms with us. We thought we were hot shots. She whipped our asses up and down the court.
An all-time great Lady Griz, an all-time great Montanan and a very unique person with her drive and competitive personality. A very sad loss, indeed. RIP to one of the best.

Got lost in all the Cat/Griz talk but I was saddened to hear about her passing this week. She was a couple years older than myself so I was very aware of her accomplishments both in high school and at UM. Much too young.
