Most legit sights don't post fcs lines until the day before the game, so I'm not sure how much stock I'd put into that number. If it's from Bet Montana, it's probably just a number to see that the money comes in 50/50

The purpose of the betting line is to "even up" the money wagered. They set the spread to entice action.

That's how I spent most of my college years. Hammering 6's.
I don’t think there are any legit lines out yet. Some of the sports books are not legitimate
