This season is...

I think this season has been amazing to say the least. Although we had a bunch of transfers come in, these guys seem very close to one another and supportive of one another. They all applaud one another when others do well and don't show any hate or jealousy. I love how they are very unselfish and play for each other. Granted we have our stars on the team, but each week someone new contributes in a big way and steps up.
i honestly feel like this team is built to overcome adversity or anything that's thrown their way. The bigger the game, the better they play. We have a bunch of gamers on this team and I'm just waiting to see them take it to the next level. I truly feel this team can win it all and won't be surprised if they do. Go GRIZ!
I know about 10 transfers. They love being with the Griz and in Missoula and say the like everyone on the team. They are fired up.

Interesting read. Thank you, Cheer Squad, Boosters, and various other 'Sugar Coaters.' But, our Griz have not had a complete game all year long. What makes any of you think they can get their shit together once, just once, players and coaches, and that once being Nov. 22? I mean solid, verifiable signs that this will happen, such as how our Offense stacks up to their Defense, our Defense v their Offense, 'Special' Teams performance, injuries(us v them), venue, and of course, the 'other' factors. AKA Objective Criteria.
November 22:
What makes you think they can't? They have had big improvement over the season. The QB, RB's and LB's are consistent. Probably other positions too. The coaches are very good. The crowd is very good this year.

I would say just look at the team and how it plays and the position groups and the individuals. That's what makes me positive and hopeful. It's a huge mistake to focus on a thing or two in certain games. Look at the big picture. What's wrong with a team that gives up big yardage sometimes, but doesn't allow many points, has very good red zone D, plays hard all game, never gives up, and comes from behind or hold on?

No team ever dominates all game every game, and doesn't have anything bad or anything go wrong.

Just wanted to add, who here would have bet any significant amount of money on this team being 10-0 before the season started?
Not even betting. Every single griz fan here (not the fake ones or the rubbish) would have been ecstatic if you guaranteed them being 10-0 heading into this weekend. Not a single person here would have put a qualifier on how that had to happen, but just be thankful it did.

Significant. That's a relative term. Significant to whom? My 'significant' would not be the same amount as Hoops significant, or Denny Washington's significant, or ________________________significant.

And, no, I would not have thought 10-0 was possible, but 'significant improvement,' yes. NC level of improvement, yes. So, I would be WRONG, RIGHT, AND WRONG. I still watch every game, and haven't busted my TV, yet.:D

I was impressed Bobby actually alluded to this himself in the press conference this week. He said maybe he needs to look at how he is doing some things intrinsically when they get up a few scores and it starts with him. Maybe a bit of a wake up call even for Bobby.
In other words, 'taking his foot off the gas'?
Words from Bobby's own mouth. Kem, you paying attention?

That's subjective, not objective. I bleed Maroon and Silver, too.
The one thing we have, without a doubt, other than our crowd in WGS, is Bobby's hatred of the scats. The crowd has shown it can be turned off like a switch, though. Someone has a Bobby quote as a signature line on his eGriz account: 'I just wish this game had five quarters, so we could kick their ass some more.' IF he sticks to that, and doesn't take his foot off the gas(NEVER IN THIS GAME!), Griz should win. If not, ...

I don't understand the subjective/objective point. Subjective is often a better analysis of a team than objective. And what is objective in this situation? Stats may be factual, but I don't find stats that stats define how good a team is. There are one part of the analysis. And looking at a few stats, and ignoring the rest, almost always results in the wrong or misleading analysis of how good a team is. For example, winning against EWU and being 10-0 is a much better indicator of how good a team is rather than focusing on giving up 450 yards to the qb of the team that lost.

hauck brothers will have a totally different looking team coming into the brawl...they
are playing the end game...it will all start with the brawl...hopefully all systems will be
up and running..look for the playbook to come alive!
I hope you're right. Tim's Defense has been total crap. 117th in the nation against the pass and 34th against the run. Those are not numbers that say we're a National Championship contender.

Okay here's the deal for those who haven't been tortured with my ridiculous posts. when it comes to this game, the more negative I am the better the Griz have done. I know, it's stupid, it's superstitious, it doesn't matter, but in my head, it has worked every time.

This is the ONE game that I don't wear any Griz swag, I cuss through the entire game and once the whistle blows and the W is in the Griz win column, THAT is when I get positive again for the post-season.

I am not going to change my approach.

I would have. Predicted undefeated or maybe one loss with some slip-up before the brawl. Easy schedule, million home games, and good to great qb play and 10-0 was very possible.

All these 'analysts' present a lunch bag full of stats, observations, and whatnot, combined with the non-quantifiable(the feel for the outcome of the game), and in the end, most are wrong anyway.
My heart says "Good 'ol Grizzly Triumph today" and the squeal of the bobscat 'will float on the air, from the tummy of the Grizzly Bear.'
My brain wants to cut through all the 'you're opinion v their opinion' and trying to come up with something to hang my 50.01% v 49.99% opinion on.
This is a game where if 100 people were asked their opinion on the outcome, with 50 are known scat fans and 50 known Griz fans, a third party would be able to tell which is which, just by what they say, not by their logo wear, or amount of scars on their faces.

Go Griz!
