Do you remember....

The recent history (past 10 years or so) of the Cats and Griz within the context of the FCS is pretty simple really.

Regardless of rankings, the home team typically wins, and both teams lose in the playoffs to a Dakota school.

I remember the Rocky Klever game at Dornblaser where the Cats came in highly ranked and the Griz won 24-8.
 
Do you remember when we won 16 straight times against the Bobcats? Ahhhhhh the good ol days. Haha. I remember watching the 1997 game live in Bozeman where the Cats scored late in the 4th quarter and thought they had it won. Then they kicked off out of bounds which put us at the 35, then Brian Ah Yat hit Justin Olsen on a deep post route to put us in FG range. The very next play Brian went under center to try and run 1 more play to give our kicker better field position and our center snapped it early and Ah Yat fumbled but recovered. Reminded me of the Eastern game. But we lined up and Kris Heppner got the win for us and everyone rushed the field. The field was chaos after the game and I saw one of the Bobcat fans punch and KO one of the Griz players sister because they lost. This was probably the craziest Griz/Cat game I've ever seen in person.

The player whose sister got punched was Fitzgerald.

I am biased but my favorite was the 2021 29-10 beat down in Missoula. Cam controlled that game from start to finish. 74 yard TD to Bergen to start the scoring and we never looked back.

Not flashy but definitive.

29-3 until the cat garbage time TD with 7 seconds left. Total beat down. The 2023 game was at least as good, 37-7. 430 yards total offense to 280. Led start to finish, 20-0 at the half. Mellott was not a factor in either game.
