Bobcat Stadium Master Plan Released

I think you are confused. It is the west side that needs the help. I would not hold my breath on any significant seating capacity increases unless demand takes a big leap. Admin likes pressure to keep ticket prices high.
Can demand really take a bigger leap than it is at now? They sold out the season tickets and are consistently packed.

To the Blue and Lemon supporters from Bozo, dream on:

Over the Rainbow
Song by Judy Garland ‧ 1939

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can't I?
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can't I?

Have they figured out how to have something to do in bozoland besides drinking at a bar? Not that I mind day-drinking at a Montana bar on a Saturday. Friends of mine whose son is at MSU went to bozo for parents day several weeks ago and the weather was dreadful. They told me there was nothing to do in bozoland besides going to a bar and said they would never go back.

I meant the west side. I figured that out later when I was talking about it with my son. I think you're right though, because there just really isn't quite enough room for a real expansion that direction, not without significant demolition that would cause peoples heads to explode. Comparatively though... UM's ticket prices aren't bad.

Marshall has crazy prices. So their "base" season ticket price appears low right? Because you know I live two miles away from Joan C. Why not go watch App and other old teams come in and whoop up on the Herd. It's fun. Anyway, the season ticket price looks deceivingly cheap, but then... You get the Seat cushion tax. I kid you not. You get your "seat" $205. Then you get your "chairback" another $350, THEN you get to "donate" another $300 to the athletic scholarship fund. that's per seat. "seats" prices vary "Chairback" and the "donation" prices don't.

Marshall is a trash program now. They are BIGLY bad. AT least UM wins and can still somewhat justify the ticket prices sort of.

West side suites and press box should have been done years ago at Wa-Griz. It’s a for sure money maker for the University that shouldn’t require any fundraising.
It requires fund-raising because UM admin requires the AD to provide the capital, at least it has for the last several projects. The west side renovation is on the list, but not currently at the top. With those UM headwinds, Haslam has done a wonderful job to keep advancing the AD facility needs, albeit at a sometimes frustratingly slow pace.

In my opinion based on the setting alone Washington Griz won’t be topped. It is next to Mt Sentinel and the Clark Fork. I’ve never been a fan of Bobcat stadium or MSU campus in general. It’s not next to the mountains and surrounded by major roads like if UM was out by Reserve Street and Big Sky High School.

Time to update the thread title.
MSU just put out RFP for feasibility and design plans to upgrade the stadium. Due in spring with awards probably to start after season ends in 2026.

Good they need an upgrade. Their stadium sucks now. I would try and get funding to expand with all the momentum in Bozeman right now too.

They could make it a 35k seat stadium and it wouldn’t have the intimate seating and acoustics that WaGriz has so I don’t know why any Griz fans care.

Of course they are. Little brother wants to show how big he is. That is entire purpose.
Not yet… from what I’ve been told might increase capacity another 5 thousand or so (from 18 to 23)

I doubt that. Wa- Griz stadium is impressive. I’m betting they increase capacity another 5-6 thousand putting us at around 23,000 fans per game capacity.

Looks like they want to have a "scope of work" for the stadium completed by late winter/early spring, at which point they will begin the actual project. They seem to be targeting a very aggressive schedule that would ideally start construction by spring 2026 if I'm reading this right. Looks like there's a decent possibility of having most of the stadium expansion completed by the beginning of next season, though I'm sure some construction would still be in progress at that point

Yes, you are right-on. I also think the final design will have quite a few differences than the preliminary design that was published.

If they're just now seeking RFP's, there's no way they're gonna be able to start construction by this Spring. That's literally impossible.
