Please get up 45-0 like the Scats before you start rotating in 2’s and 3’s.

My heart can’t take another game like this one. I was having Déjà vu moments from the 2011 debacle…
You remember the game on the red turf with the Griz fumble on the goal line? We’ve had some real stinkers against EWU over the years that have included blowing leads like we did yesterday. That one in Cheney really sticks out. I wanna say Delaney was coach at the time. I think it was either a QB sneak or a RB run up the middle from the 1 yard line and the ball carrier stretched out with the ball and EWU knocked it out.

I remember them all. Like a series of bad freaking dreams.

I think about all the things outside of football itself that could have been impacted. Home playoff games. Lost revenue to Missoula restaurants, hotels, bars, VRBO’s, apparel stores. There is so much that rides on a high playoff seeding.

Home playoff games = lost revenue to Missoula restaurants, hotels, bars, VRBO’s, apparel stores and of course the U of M itself. There is so much that rides on a high playoff seed. To see the coaches shift conservative was really frustrating. They played with fire yesterday and damn near got burned. Bobby’s teams have those type of games every year. It would certainly be nice to see a dominant team and game for four quarters. Yes, there are some injuries on defense. No excuse for that laid egg on offense. None.

When they throw the ball 63 times you have to rotate guys in the secondary. The Griz played without Cutler, Loud, Breston and Gentry. I am not sure but did Wilkinson get hurt yesterday too? Harper was obviously playing through pain in the 4th quarter. So the guys in the rotation outside of Harper, Ford and Lawler were two true freshman, one redshirt freshman, and three sophomores.

Largely the result of a no bye season--yesterday was Game 10 with no byes, we are beat up, and given our 12 consecutive game, no-bye season, that's not a surprise !!!

So that's why the Griz offense did absolutely nothing in the last 25 minutes of the game?

I'm pretty sure that was Travon Van you're referencing, and it was just a first down he was reaching for, not a td if memory serves correct.

The offense stalled but was that because of substitutions?
No it seemed the ones all game. That was my point. Why did the #1 offense do nothing after the opening 2nd half drive?

I'm not knowledgeable but it seems the #1 Griz's offensive performance may have led to some of the defensive struggles.

Who's in charge of onside kick coverage? How do Griz rank in onside recoveries that past few years?

Yeah, credit Eastern--their tough D, at least it was very tough yesterday probably because we are their biggest game all year and we're their rival, we are their MSU--had a lot to do with our O's problems yesterday. !!!

As Bobby said after the game, " Good on them ! "

We had a lot of problems yesterday, but in addition to our point-the-finger, circular-egriz firing squad, let's give most of the credit to Coach Best and his Eagles from Cheney !!!

Are you thinking of the game in 2012?

Peter Nguyen and Jordan Canada both fumbled inside the red zone, with Nguyen's coming inside the 2 or 3.

That was also the game Brandon Kaufman scored twice in the final 2 minutes to rip our hearts out.

Good question in first para. Yes, on second para. A player is assigned to cover that particular onside kick, and he didn't do the assignment. Have no knowledge on UM onside kick recoveries. I would guess fine, but not great.

Bobby said in the post-game interview, Mouse, that we had players assigned to recover that onside kick, one of our " hands' team" had a chance to recover the Eastern kick, and he didn't make the play. Bobby didn't throw the kid under the bus by identifying him, which I appreciated.
