Central Washington

I spent some time Ellensburg in a pervious life. About 9,000 students. The campus actually reminds me of Missoula. Really good people, and they love their sports programs. Great college bars. The town can smell like manure now and then, so it reminds you of Bozeman and the perfume the women wear there. Nice place to visit, though.

I had to get gas there one time, does that count? Little time to dawdle. Had to make the Griz at EWU game in 2004. Left Tacoma in a torrential rainstorm, one of the worst I'd been in since Phoenix six months prior(go figure). Left the rain behind me on Snoqualmie Pass, then I saw it, the great Columbia River Basin and Scaiblands. To think that Glacial Lake Missoula tore everything west of it a new one, long, long ago was on my mind. Of course, Griz won 31-28 in that joke of a stadium. That was before the WedWug got implanted there.
Is this an exert from you unpublished memoir, “The Most Boring Fucking Memoir Ever Written”?

There’s a significant Latino community in Ellensburg, WA. Given your posting history, you’d hate it.

Everett and Elrod, sorry, but the 'Ayes' have it 4-2.:giggle:
I just get so tired of the inability to get away from politics, even on a football message board. Everybody is anger, everybody seems dumber about politics than they did when I was younger, and nobody can actually have a policy discussion anymore but just talk about people. I would love to have some haven from political bitching, but unfortunately my family will not let me become a hermit in the mountains.

Damn! Now I have to come up with a new title.

And, it's 'Excerpt,' not exert.
ged non line

exert/iɡˈzərt/

To "exert" means to apply or use force, influence, or energy. Usage examples include using all of your strength to lift a heavy object, a government official exerting authority, or a substance exerting pressure. Synonyms for exert include apply, exercise, wield, use, and pressure.

excerpt/ˈekˌsərpt/
An excerpt is a short passage or quotation from a larger work, such as a book, article, or film, used to provide a sample or highlight key content. Examples include reading a few pages from a book before buying it, watching a short clip from a movie, or a news article that includes quotes from a longer interview. Synonyms include selection, extract, and quotation.

Think I’ll skip the GED. Look where it took you, a joyless career in Eastern Idaho followed by a windswept, lonely retirement on a urine stained La-Z-Boy in Great Falls.

I was also at that 2004 game. EWU put up a temporary grandstand right in front of the scoreboard and price gouged because they knew Griz Nation would come in droves. We were sitting on the visitor’s sideline right behind the team and could not see the scoreboard, including the game clock. EWU was driving down the field for a potential winning touchdown. We had no idea how much time was left, but knew it was under a minute. That was stressful. EWU bogged down about the ten yard line and sent out the field goal team. Shane McIntyre blocked the attempt and we all went home happy.
I watched that game in the middle of the night on a laptop in an MWR facility while deployed to southern Iraq. Shane was a neighbor of mine in Helena when I was growing up. Fun times…

May I offer you a solution, Elrod?
'Put z-phone down!'
